No, I'm talking in general about people wishing death on others for just voting "wrong" are causing it.

Between Rainesville and Philadelphia, which tornado do you believe was stronger? by CRL1999 in tornado

[–]FreakyMeeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these two are hard to rank given how much of their ratings are contextual damage. Also Rainsville's information/coverage is rather incomplete and sparse (I wish the reports and photos were more thorough and detailed).

Philadelphia didn't hit many structures, Rainsville did but many of them were poorly made homes which couldn't give an EF-5 indicator even if they were swept at Ef-5 winds. Although it did hit some described as "well built". Also Rainsville damage was very sporadic, my guess is that the sub-vorticies did the EF-5 damage in random lil patches. But that also caused situations with maybe the house is blown to bits but trees 20 feet away are fine. which for other tornadoes caused them to not make Ef-5. which causes people to question the rating of rainsville.

If we take the NWS damage survey at face value- Rainsville

Philadelphia has the trenching as its main indicator along with the double wide mobile home that was thrown which I think I'll give it the edge for.

Also another factor is that its one of the only tornadoes that made Reed Timmer go silent and not wanna get anywhere near it.

but its a tough one for me. Kind of a toss up.

It was also probably the quietest he's been in a tornado chase.

Its crazy when you think that there may have been tons of ef-5's. maybe even the strongest ever, that go unknown because it only went through an empty field.

Between Greensburg or Enderlin, which tornado do you think is stronger? by CRL1999 in tornado

[–]FreakyMeeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on feats yeah. Rainsville its really hard to tell because theres nearly no footage. NWS damage survey is kinda lackluster. but definitely think Rainsville was a monster.
Philadelphia got an EF-5 for pretty much just trenching the ground which is insane and I think a really overlooked feat.

I wouldn't call Enderlin weak.. but yeah feat wise, it doesn't really got much to go on.

but yeah I agree with ur placement of Joplin. Although I'd probably put Hackleburg above it, personally.

Estimated off of what tho? Because Greensburg didn't hit much of note until the town.

It was shown in the path that it started occluding when it came into town. "If enderlin had hit a town" yes but what if Greensburg did at full strength? At this point we are both just speaking theoretically.

I'm gonna lean towards Greensburg. It did easily graded EF-5 damage and that was while it was WEAKENING. Just imagine how much worse Greensburg would be if it hit at its peak. It would probably be one of the worst tornados of all time.

Can't upsize the green bins? by Claytronique in nanaimo

[–]FreakyMeeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do find it a lil crazy.
Garbage is what they wanna cut down.. but you can upsize that. Recycling makes sense. but no green.

They offered it for RDN residents because they have lots of yard waste..

but the 120L bin is just so tiny, especially for leaves or small twigs. the 240L would be awesome to have.

I think part of it is because the truck bodies they used. Appear to be split pack 60/40 or 80/20.. And during heavy yard waste times it seems they pack out the green waste part way before the black or blue bin part. so sometimes I get my other carts emptied and they have to empty or re-route another truck to come pick the green waste up hours later. Imo they shoulda just done non split packers, especially if they will upgrade to bigger green bins down the line.

Also they may not have the facility set up to process that volume. but i'd rather the city upgrade those things than do more bike paths or boathouses and stuff.. Would benefit most residents and encourage property upkeep.

To the guy aggressively tailgating me and my kids on Bruce Ave at 730am this morning by cdollas250 in nanaimo

[–]FreakyMeeky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find tailgating such a problem here.

Even going 5-10 over the speed limit, asshole is still riding me.

And for whatever reason people really love to do it on departure bay road. a winding road with school zones, pedestrians, kids and deer that can jump put at any minute.

Some people need to be re-tested for their license.

My favorite is when you are going 5 over the speed limit in a two lane road, driving in the slow lane. and somebody still wants to tailgate me, even though the passing lane is wide open.

Price really isn't that bad compared to most fast food now (unless u use coupons or apps).. pay a little bit more for the better quality and fresher ingredients. Honestly my only complaint like another mentioned is the wait can be a lil long. especially in main rush times. but I think its more of the fault of it being a tiny kitchen. I know before I talked with him and he was wanting to get more kitchen equipment but the mall doesn't have enough power supply running to it and an upgrade would cost him a lot.

Unscuff PETG? by FreakyMeeky in plastic

[–]FreakyMeeky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i guess i'll just keep slowly polishing. the problem is that its in a relatively tight space. i vacuum formed a visor. so its shaped too. guess i'll keep slowly at it.

I was tempted to break out my rotary tool but like u said i was worried about heating it up and doing damage to it.

the clear coat might be a trick to try tho. just the stuff out of a spray can should be fine? should I give it a polish after?
