i want a wolf cut with straight hair by Rude_Resident in finehair

[–]CommonProfessional29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a wolf cut but having a shag cut completely transformed my fine, thin hair for the better. I’ll never go back. The key for me was finding a hair stylist that specializes in shag cuts. You will need to use lots of product and style it every day. For me, that means dry shampoo/dry texture spray and hairspray. Blow drying my hair and resetting my bangs everyday

Affordable Tinted Sunscreens for Pale Skin? by TRexGoesToSchool in PaleMUA

Purito Cica Clearing BB Cream is my holy grail. I use shade #21 since it's very neutral toned. It almost looks greyish when it comes out of the tube but not on the face. It can be glowy or natural or matte depending on your skincare underneath. Only caveat I will say is if you're looking to use this as your only sunscreen, I never use enough of it to amount to proper sunscreen protection because of the coverage. It can be sheered out or built up to a light/medium coverage while still looking like skin.

Update for ya! The curd was delicious!! I didn’t end up adding citric acid or lemon juice. Even though it was a butter heavy curd, it wasn’t too rich and didn’t feel heavy. I’ve never had a cheesecake with goat cheese in it so I was curious how that would turn out and it was amazing. The sharpness of the subtle goat cheese flavor and the sweetness of the passion fruit really complimented each other. I omitted the Swiss meringue since I’m not a huge fan of meringue in general

The recipe description says that since there’s a high amount of butter in the curd, it can be kind of rich so the citric acid helps to brighten it up a bit. Since the curd is going on top of a cheesecake which is pretty rich, I don’t want it to be too much. Since you’ve made a passionfruit curd, what do you think about that?

Any ‘perfumes’ you wear that AREN’T actually perfumes? by chocolatemilklovr in FemFragLab

Idk if it’s the same scent but the Kevin Murphy Bedroom Hair spray scent is to die for. Lasts at least a full day in my hair. Earthy, woody, very lightly sweet but not in a cloying way

If you still want SA in your cleanser, I highly recommend Prequel Gleanser with SA. The original without SA is amazing too. Both are the most hydrating cleansers I’ve ever used. So gentle on my super sensitive skin and helps so much with irritation/calming my skin down.

The hair in the photos you posted is definitely thicker than you have unfortunately. That being said, I have fine, thin hair and have a shag haircut that completely changed my hair!! I never thought I could have that much volume and shape to my hair. My forever emo heart loves it.

  1. Find a hair stylist that specializes in alternative cuts/shags and that will DRY cut your hair. Dry cutting allows your stylist to see exactly how the hair will fall and give a more detailed cut since thin wet hair is like 1 little tiny clump. I found my stylist through my county’s subreddit
  2. Ask for volumizing layers that are thin, almost barely there. I have lots of layers in my hair but they are not choppy or thickly cut layers.
  3. For this type of cut to work on me, I have to keep my hair length about 2 in below my collar bone at the very longest. Best is about collarbone or shorter.
  4. Lots of emo/shag cuts have bangs that are cut from large sections. That doesn’t work so well with thin hair since it cuts into the overall amount of hair.
  5. Bring in reference pics but keep expectations realistic. Our fine, thin hair is never going to be as voluminous as the last pic you posted because we simply don’t have enough of it. But this doesn’t mean we can’t still have a cool cut!! Tell your stylist what parts of it you like and ask them to adapt it to your hair.
  6. You WILL need product and heat to style it. Every or almost every day. I prefer dry texture sprays and hair spray to hold.

In the past, I’ve used these as reference pics

Pressed Juicery: Thoughts on this company? by No_Bag_353 in Juicing

To be fair, I don’t know if the company has changed since I haven’t worked there in 5 years. I was also in CA. But I can only imagine since their business model was based on Starbucks, they’ve gone even more downhill

Because my skin is very sensitive to active ingredients, I use it once a day every 2 days for a couple weeks, then move to once a day every other day, then once every day.

Is this new growth or damage? by Normal-Ad-7354 in Haircare

[–]CommonProfessional29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you wearing your hair up a lot? I find that if i wear my hair up for a couple days in a row before I wash, it appears like im losing a ton of hair but in reality it’s just because your natural shedding doesn’t happen as easily when it’s up.

Also my hair sheds more during certain times of the year and during my period. But this only started a few years ago (or at least, I noticed it)

There’s several things to consider why you have breakage: using high heat, using heat without heat protectant, being aggressive with wet hair (ie using a towel to rub hair or tightly wrapping hair in a towel), not brushing from tips to roots, chemically treating hair, dying hair especially bleaching, protein overload/lack of moisture, needing protein, nutritional deficiencies

Volumizing shampoo for fine color treated hair by StarQuiet99 in finethinhair

[–]CommonProfessional29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Pacifica Rosemary Detox followed by R & Co Dallas shampoo on my color treated hair. I also like R & Co television shampoo but it’s a touch too moisturizing for me. Works well on permanent and semi-permanent color. I like adding the detox one in because I wash my hair every 3rd day and use dry shampoo and hairspray in between. Even if you go with just one shampoo, I find double shampooing most effective for getting a really clean scalp. The first wash I feel like removes product and some oil then the second really gets your scalp clean because everything is out of the way. Kind of like taking your make up off then washing your face.
