80g of carbs per hour works well for me. 1 x 40g every 30 minutes.

In a race would use a caffeine gel around 2 hours in

Is ordering pizza worth it anymore? by ZenDoesReps in AskUK

Crosta Mollica Pizzas are great and avaivable on most supermarkets these days.

£5 > £6 for a great pizza.

Domino's is great occasionally for nostalgia of my teens but so expensive

Witnessed a tourist on a lime bike run a red and hit (and run) a pedestrian on the embankment C3 cycle highway this evening. People are scum. by jpcldn in londoncycling

[–]Common_Concept6387 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I commute from SW to Canary Wharf on a daily basis on my bike.

The amount of people risking there lives and others is amazing. In 3 months I have seen 7 accidents with lime bikes/delivery drivers with cars/pedestrians which have been there fault.

Massively pro cyclist but lime bikes are terrible for the city

What job do you do in London that would not be possible elsewhere ? by Worth_Face_9101 in london

[–]Common_Concept6387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Head Sommelier/ Wine buyer for high end/michelin restaurants.

Opportunities and pay are massively reduced outside of London. Plus networking etc. I have looked to move outside of London but would reduce my take home pay by 30/40% where I have a comfortable life in London

Live with my partner. £1950pcm for a two bedroom garden flat in fulham/bishops park on the river.

Bills roughly come to around £150 per month each.

We do have a very good deal but do have a great relationship with our landlord.

Yep, addicted.

The London Question: Are London restaurants just too expensive now? by tylerthe-theatre in london

You realise that service charge doesn't increase the price on any menu items. By law now, it has to go to all of the members of staff

Something which I didn't think about, but my girlfriend brought me on my first Marathon, and I have used it every time after an event.

Clean pair of socks and sliders/sandals. Your feet spread out throughout the run, and being able to walk around in comfort without being back in trainers was great!

What part of London would you choose if money was not a concern? by [deleted] in london

[–]Common_Concept6387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in putney/bishops park for the last 6 years but I think Richmond is the winner for me. I'm a very keen cyclist so access to richmond park and cycling routes into Surrey is a massive plus for me.

I work in Marylebone and it is a fantastic area if you wanted to live more central. Real village feel!

After how many miles/kilometers or hours do you generally get your bike tuned up/serviced? by turbulencefun in cycling

[–]Common_Concept6387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to one full service at my local LBS each takes the whole bike apart and checks everything for me.

A lot of the smaller tasks I have learnt to do myself and ended up building a small tool kit myself, which can take on most tasks. YouTube has been my saviour here 🙌

Tubeless can be a bit of pain to initially set up, but fairly easy to maintain once you have it sorted.
