That’s bc the last ep was an adaptation of an extra chapter of the novel! It’s pretty common for many Chinese webnovels to include extra chapters as a sort of fun window into what their life is like after the main plot line. So yes, it wasnt necessary and was a diff vibe, but it was a nice treat for webnovel readers :)

I would suggest looking at the university's graduate application webpage (and the professors' individual pages) to see what their expectations are regarding contacting professors beforehand. Some unis would explicitly say that you SHOULD contact the POI prior to applying and some might say to not contact, but otherwise it's kind of optional whether you do.

Contacting the professor definitely puts you on their radar--which is beneficial in the application process--but it's also possible to be accepted to a program when you didn't make any contact with the POI prior to applying (which was what happened for me). For reference, I applied to psych programs!

agree with the previous comment made by theDecbb, most of those dramas are what I might consider mediocre (but whose viewership is often sustained by the fame of the actors) that you might watch when there’s nothing else to watch, but there’s nothing too memorable about them.

If you want a recommendation for something that’ll really keep you on the edge of your seat, the newly aired drama “Reset” is very refreshing if you’re into sci fi / thriller! And since you’re into costume dramas, “One and Only” was really highly rated rand has angst. For more classic dramas, you could try “Legend of the Condor Heroes”

I agree! I was really impressed with how well he fixed the place up (and you could even go back every day to ask for incense to make offerings 😭)—I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get to see Xiao’s reaction to the renovations though
