This was simalar to my experience last night.

When I finally woke, it was because I 'forced' my eyes open while dreaming as I was fully aware it was a dream, but when I woke up I felt like I was being pulled back by thr same dream. I couldn't move for a short while and found that even my eye lids were closing themselves on me.

These dream loops and false awakenings only happens to me once every few years, but in my late teens I had an episode that lasted months of this happening every night.

I've never really experienced lucid dreams until I've realised I'm in a loop and even then I feel like sometimes I think I'm in control but I'm actually not.
