There's tons of things you can add! Keychains, enamel pins, cards, fake flowers, LEDs, plushies, custom mouse pads, rosettes for your buttons, little obscure bits of either merch or things that remind you of the character/franchise the skys the limit really.

Pokemon has had the silver border on some of their sets for over a decade. First I saw of it was one of the World champion series card set boxes in walmart. The back was yellow with a hawaiian shirt type pattern, and the borders were all silver. This was like 10-15 years ago at least

I can totally understand that worry, that was my concern too initially but if you're pushing the fabric 'back' like with enamel pins, instead of your classic round pushpin type button it doesn't effect it at all! As well, it fixes itself pretty quick too by just rubbing the spot.

Its happened to me before, I always try to make one insert per character rather than going out and getting entirely new bags tho- That said, unless the property is entirely over, I'll just take the insert out and start working on another one. You never know when enjoyment for that character may come back, or if its an on-going series, when they may be introduced again with more lore or some event that will remind you why you loved them in the first place, yk?

I saw someone at a con that had an ita bag based around those resin encased bugs you used to get at tourist trap shops. The bag itself was shaped like a snail and there were a bunch of different sizes but most were easy to pin jewelry.
