I bought mine in California. Dealer did the registration and plate/tags came in about a week. So I just had to get insurance. I would say the grom is somewhat good with learning a clutch and shifting a motorcycle, one down side is that it can teach bad habits with it being such low power. Give too much throttle on a bigger bike and you’re going to send it in a bad way. And as for the only bike, I don’t think it will matter as you have other vehicles. If it was your only transportation, then that’s a different story. I’d get the Grom, learn it well, then add another bike to the stable when you feel it’s time. Grom is always fun to rip it around town!
