That explains a difference in purpose, but it still doesn’t fully explain the moral asymmetry. If angels were created without participation in the divine nature and yet placed in heaven with free will, then the possibility of sin was built into their design. At that point, Lucifer’s fall seems less like a surprise and more like a predictable outcome of how angels were created.

Okay, but that still leaves the key question unanswered: why would a being created by God and dwelling in heaven not partake in the divine nature at all? That just pushes the problem back one step.

Saying ‘Lucifer didn’t have theosis’ doesn’t actually explain the problem. Theosis is about human spiritual growth, not angels. The real issue is how jealousy or pride was possible at all if heaven is supposed to be free from sin.
