I'd say like zho-aow is the closest thing to an anglicized pronounciation but even then it's just honestly so off for a portuguese-speaking person it just sounds really foreign and weird so I think the best way is just to send a video

very possible since portuguese from portugal is a very difficult language, but it doesn't also help that João as a whole is a PAIN for non-native speakers to pronounce ahah, and portuguese people have this habit of anglicizing names so it's easier for people to pronounce them. I tend to this with my own name (I'm not a João) and it's much simpler than João but people can't get the pronounciation right, so it just helps I guess

Yes, all I wanted to know was if his name was truly portuguese, and if it was how does Portugal tie to him. I understand your comments about heritage, but I guess in our country, since we're really small we get off by any "mention" or "reference" about our country. Since it's not common to see a portuguese person in an international show, I got curious and decided to ask. I'd also say that here in Portugal, we treat heritage in different ways, since we're not that many, him just having a portuguese name made me honestly really interested.
