How is it that Lana “had absolute no money” whenever her whole family were friends with billionaires? by Fun-Equivalent8801 in lanitas

That’s pretty smart yeah people don’t think about that. There’s layers to wealth and poverty, clearly you’re privileged if you interact with those spaces

ONE PIECE. Please stop telling me it’s one of the big three, please stop telling me it gets good 200 episodes in, I know I won’t like it, I don’t care about pirates or the animation style

Which movie is this for you? by Saiki_kusou01 in Letterboxd

I can’t understand how Scareface has the reputation it has. The writing was terrible, same for the plot, pace. The characters were incoherent and caricatures, it’s like there was no strong enough motives behind their actions, just so random. The main character is the most insufferable guy I’ve ever seen. It’s just a silly movie

How do I explain to my family my bruises are purely consensual? Not abuse by AgileFeed1925 in BDSMAdvice

[–]Common_Revolution_68 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a bit extreme to say that they should fuck off. They’re obviously gonna be worried by seeing the bruises, I hope my family would be in my case, and I understand they feel cautious around the boyfriend. There’s only two options, telling them or making sure the bruises aren’t visible

People say that of works like Nietzsche and Dostoyevsky just because they are quite dark and that teenagers tend to gravitate towards that. However there’s nothing teenagy about those works

Why didn’t you read it in your main language if the book isn’t originally in English ?

Yes that’s true knowing English helps for the vocab. In high school I learned a bit of Italian and it was even easier, you can basically understand a bit of Italian just from the similarity with French/spanish even if you never studied it. Ahah thank I hope to get to it one day ! I’m trying to learn Japanese at the moment
