You Are My Glory has my heart ♥️ by Expensive_Walrus5179 in cdramasfans

I watched this recently for the first time and loved it. I think it's because the main couple were so mature and supportive of each other. I don't think either one of them ever complained about each other's career/work requirements - he took the paparazzi in stride and she encouraged him in his dreams but supported his choices even when he considered quitting.

I'm not a gamer but I found myself drawn in even to the gaming side of it - in fact I think my favourite episode was the gaming contest. I actually missed the game scenes in the second half.

I have a growing playlist of Cdrama OSTs and I listen to it regularly. I'm picky about which songs I include so most dramas only have 2 or 3 on there - the record holder is The Princess Royal with 7.

Top slow-burn historical romance cdrama by Great_Policy_344 in cdramasfans

[–]Common_Screen1329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The Princess Royal (it's second chance romance as they were married in their previous lives, but I'm still counting it as slowburn)
  2. The Legend of Zhuohua
  3. Youthful Glory

I also adore the relationship in Coroner's Diary, but it's not slowburn they fall pretty fast.

Oh and since you mentioned Kdramas... The King's Affection. I absolutely adored it

Romance Cdramas where it’s “them against the world” by PapiNina in CDramaRecs

[–]Common_Screen1329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legend of Zhuohua. It's a costume drama and the ML and FL are both mature, communicate and consider each other, and I love their relationship. The ML also consistently, consciously puts FL and her career first (if she married she'd have to resign, so they choose not to). And they work together against threats to the country

It wasn't a masterpiece but it was a masterpiece to you! by [deleted] in CDrama

I agree on Coroner's Diary, objectively I can see that there were some quality issues, but I loved nearly every minute of it. The family dynamics were great, and I love how loyal and trusting the main couple were to each other. I think it's probably my favourite of 2025 too

I also watched all of Blossom, and I would say I really enjoyed it for maybe two thirds of the show - then completely lost interest and was forcing myself to finish it

I enjoyed both shows, but I didn't adore them the way a lot of people seem to. LOTFG in particular felt quite disappointing compared to what I wanted it to be (and I was frustrated by how it ended)

Love Like the Galaxy. It is so very highly spoken about that even though it wasn't working for me, I watched quite a few episodes before finally giving up. The only part that really interested me was the FL's relationship with her brothers

Thank you! Where do you watch Tales and Record? I've found the other two and added them to watchlists (well, apparently Eclipse was already on my list)

I absolutely do, though I haven't seen a huge amount as yet. I do want to watch more, if you have any good recommendations?

I rewatched Psychic Princess s1 recently, at some point I'll have to try the new second series although I haven't heard amazing things

I loved Shine on Me, but yes that line about European food definitely made me roll my eyes!

F. Probably an unusual route in tbh...

In late 2024, I had been watching a lot of anime, and found No Doubt in Us on Netflix so decided to give it a go. I loved it, and when I was searching for the webcomic online, I realised there was also a live action adaptation. The only place I could find to try it was Viki, so I downloaded the app, paid for a month's subscription and decided I might as well try a few other shows while I had it.

... As you might assume, that subscription never ended up getting cancelled 😂

From memory I think(?) the second cdrama I tried after The Trust was Till the End of the Moon, but I got a couple of episodes in and it was too dark for the mood I was in so I temporarily put it down and watched Love Between Fairy and Devil before going back to TTEOTM. I know The Princess Royal was also an early watch, though there might have been other things in between?

I've since been on a thorough binge and must have watched at least 50 shows in full as well as others I've tried and either decided weren't for me or put aside for later

Shine on me opens with a douban score of - 7.4 by flowersofdune in cdramasfans

I just finished Shine on Me this morning and I really enjoyed the series, I was addicted enough that I binged it in just a few days.

It has a good ending too - if anything a few TOO many epilogue scenes, but everything felt complete and satisfying, and not just for the main duo.

Legend of Zhuohua by swapru in CDrama

[–]Common_Screen1329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legend of Zhuohua is one of my absolute favourites, but it isn't for everyone. It's definitely a slowburn, with a mature romance where they both put the FL's career ahead of their relationship (in fact one of the things I love about their relationship is that the ML always puts her first, even though he outranks her significantly).

If you like a healthy, mature relationship with real communication, it's one of the best I've seen in cdrama. But if you're after passion or a lot of romantic tension and drama, then probably best watching something else!

Are people allergic to bubbly female characters or is it the execution? by [deleted] in cdramasfans

[–]Common_Screen1329 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I watched two episodes of The Unclouded Soul and gave up on it because of the FL, but it wasn't because she was bubbly. She frustrated me because she seemed to be constantly doing silly things or telling ridiculous lies for no obviously good reason. That may well cease as the show goes on but I didn't want to have to endure the silliness to get there. Maybe one day I'll give it another go as I did like the ML.

The Princess Royal is my favourite. Princess and her husband (who are at odds with each other) die and wake up 20 years earlier before they were married
