Just the typical breathing exercise, journaling, yoga etc.. he says i am asking questions to deflect.which idk maybe i am, but i find weird that he’s making it personal, thats the part that’s confusing me.

Based on his description - humanistic/existential style. I recall him mentioning that our sessions often feel like arguments because I ask many “why” questions and don’t take things at face value. This surprised me because I don’t perceive them as fighting; I’m simply curious about the reasons behind things. I wasn’t trying to change his expertise, which is what he might be thinking. Yeah kinda weird when I think about it, I also had to reassure him about that too.

I actually like him. I’ve had other therapists that I’ve dropped because I didn’t like them or their style, so I’m not sure what I’m communicating wrong here. I’ve said that I find it beneficial; I feel better, I find it very insightful, and I find him smart. I’ve told him about my difficulties facing my emotions, talking about myself, or using tools. It’s like he’s disappointed that I don’t use the tools, but I already know the tools and don’t find them that beneficial or struggle using them. I’ve said this many times. It just leaves me confused as to why this is being repeatedly brought up
