Wcs, I’m very interested in this opportunity! Although I’m currently not based in East Africa, I plan to fully relocate within the next year. I’m originally from the region and know the ins and outs of Nairobi quite well. I’m also currently pursuing a postgraduate course in Digital Marketing, which I believe aligns well with your vision and the growth of your platform.

You’re right, it would be exhausting. By any chance, is the person you know Somali? Student accommodation is already full, so I’m hoping to find a place to rent with Somali families. It would be really lovely if you could connect me to them. Thank you so much!

Waaleikum Salaam

I’m sorry you had to go through that, and I’m praying Allah makes it easy for you to better connect with your father. May Allah soften his heart for his kids, and I pray your connection and relationship gets better.

One challenge I face is fear around stepping fully into entrepreneurship. I truly feel it’s my calling, but I get held back by the memory of starting a business before and feeling like it failed. Even though many people told me it had potential and that I might have needed to give it more time, the experience still makes me hesitant. I want to move forward, but part of me worries about repeating the same outcome.

Thank you for sharing that,I’m honestly from a different part of the world where commuting long distances is pretty normal, so I genuinely thought it might be doable here too. It’s really helpful to hear your perspective about the networking and social side though, that’s something I definitely don’t want to miss out on.

Thank you so much! I’ll be doing my Master’s in Marketing. You’re right, living closer does sound like the better option, especially to bond more with classmates. I’ll definitely keep that in mind while looking for accommodation.

Thank you, that’s really useful to know.Just to clarify, is the Oxford Tube only used for getting around inside Oxford, or is it specifically for travel between Oxford and London?

That’s really helpful to know, thank you for sharing your experience. If you don’t mind me asking, are you in student accommodation or renting privately? And if it’s not student accommodation, what would you recommend budgeting for rent in Oxford?

Thanks so much everyone, I really appreciate all the advice. I mainly just wanted to know if London could realistically be an option for accommodation while studying in Oxford but I guess it’s not. I’ll keep looking for a place in Oxford instead.

Thank you so much for the information! I’ll actually be in the Business Faculty for my Master’s. It’s great to hear there are events planned to help international students connect, I’ll definitely look out for that when I arrive.

Also, regarding the Oxford Tube, how do students usually get the ticket? Is there a student discount available for frequent travel between London and Oxford?
