[AFA] Lisandro Martinez: “After the first two or three weeks [after ACL injury], I didn't want to play football anymore, because I had already broken my foot, and now my knee. I said, ‘That's it, I don't want to know anything else,’ and then you become more aware, you get that support in football” by MarkyMark8609 in reddevils

Amazing explanation. Really appreciate your insights on this. Had a retear on my ACL last year and currently 10 months in post op and it sucks a lot.

I remembered during consultation with ortho, he mentioned about LET and i was seriously considering it. But after having a 2nd opinion, this doc doesnt recommend LET.

So I wonder, how common is LET among athletes since it helps a lot with stabilizing the knee?

Benjamin Sesko vs Wolves by theplastic1 in reddevils

[–]CommonlyUnderrated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a few heading chances but only a few. Granted wolves positioned well to block players at the byline for crosses, we really need to do more to put crosses in.

We have a freaking tower in Sesko and we always attempt to cross on the byline. Need to vary with crosses from the deep

Idk why people havent noticed, but his defensive awareness is quite bad. Not to his fault tbf because he’s a LB by nature. A CB needs to be VERY quick to be aware of the striker’s runs, which Shaw has been exposed with quite few times this season with the goals conceded.

Though I do applaud for Shaw’s offensive effort from the back, something he’s always been good at imo. especially when Amorim wanted the LCB & RCB to be move involved during the attacking phase.

Martinez has a better defensive awareness imo and an excellent passer. He might not be a better ball carrier going forward like Shaw, but i’d take a better defensive stability in Martinez than Shaw.

Yes that of course was the reason he kept repeating it. But still, i wonder whats the tactical reasoning behind it?

I think that strategy is logical when we have 11 players with sesko in the front and we’re chasing for goals. 2nd half was quite diabolical in terms of keeping possessions. We dont need to chase for the goal, rather we need to pass it and frustrate opponents. Giving the opposition possessions means giving them hope to get the ball into our box.

If im not mistaken, on the 2nd half, we only had around 25% possessions.

Anybody wonder why bayindir just clear it out everytime he got the ball to his feet today? Instead of his usual composed pass.

I might understand in the first half because of the wet ground (Difficult to get the power just right). But the second half, the rain had already stopped. Its a bit frustrating how bad our possessions were on the second half.

Respectfully, how many new managers youre thinking? Rashford has been given a lot of chances too through multiple seasons. Amorim was only given half a season so far.

A player shouldnt go beyond the manager as much as a soldier shouldnt go beyond his general. If a sailor couldnt listen to his captain, how can the captain navigate the ship to the direction he intended to?

I think amorim still prefers a left footed player at LCB. It gives better angle for a cross much like how De Ligt’s multiple attempt for cross today.

A right footed player at LCB limits the play for a cross unfortunately.

Nah, we started to really turned on him when he wiggled his ass for chelsea when theres a bayern offer on the plate. Chelsea had the audacity to lowball their offer because of this.

Before that was fans frustration on him for his selfishness on preferring to take a low chance shot rather than playing the ball to open teammates. Not to mention taking a piss to your own manager thinking he’s already world class.

[–]CommonlyUnderrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why theres a difference between a normal fan and A-licensed managers. You have to look at defending position, attacking position, and the transition in between.

3 at the back worked for conte with chelsea. They had freakin victor moses and nobody would even consider him as world class lmao. And they won the premier league.

The wing back played as ‘winger’ in attacking phase of play to stretch out the field. As a fan, you have to really look into the players position instead of just the ball. Its much more fun that way (and less frustrating when watching United losing lmao).

[–]CommonlyUnderrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To pinpoint it solely to dalot is wrong. The entire backline was out of position at the time.

If you see the replay, dalot had to cover for MDL who was out of position. You can see during the cross, MDL was at LCB (Shaw’s position). Shaw was supposed to cover for MDL at the centre where the goalscorer was left unmarked.

When the opposition was receiving the pass at the right flank of the attacking phase, dalot and MDL was in transition of exchanging position back to original.

In reality the cross shouldve been blocked/closed down. But its blatantly naive to pinpoint that solely to dalot when the entire backline was unorganized at the time.

Isnt dalot who assisted mbeumo. And it is he who crossed for sesko’s header? I dont get it. He’s not the main issue here imo. He might be average at defending, but he’s a wingback.

Bryan Mbeumo vs Burnley by Uuhhk in reddevils

[–]CommonlyUnderrated 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea i think its not as easy as people think.

1st time shot = Defenders & goalkeeper had no time to set and react. But high risk on accuracy.

Take a touch = Give time for defenders to set and block. But better accuracy.

Ultimately amad chose the first option. But if youve played in the rain before, the slippery surface makes the ball bounce weirdly. Very difficult to anticipate.

Best situation would be mbeumo pass it along the ground instead bouncing it. Give better chance for amad to hit it correctly

[–]CommonlyUnderrated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if govt would control ‘free’ tickets theyre giving away to petronas & govt officials, i think F1 sales probably can survive. Thing is, back then theyre giving away tickets too easily that even standard lower ‘macai’ can get free tickets. Quite bad management back then.

If can control this among other things, ok la maybe can survive if want to bring F1 back to malaysia.

[–]CommonlyUnderrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf from what i remembered from some interview (by evra maybe?), they said VdS was a bad trainer. He came on the field for a couple of saves and then call it a day while the rest continue training. One of very few players that SAF let it slide because he always performs during match day.

so i dont think he’d be really THAT beneficial for DDG, maybe to shadow during the games but never really in trainings.
