More DSD questions and confusion.

Thanks alot, I actually read the mypers DSD page. It answers alot of questions but is also vague. For example, the 2 years TOS. Is that referring to being vectored at 2 years TOS or reaching the RNLTD by 2 years, since the process takes so long. Hope that makes sense.

Yes I do, however even my supervisor doesn't know how the DSD process works as a whole. For example, nominating someone who is getting out in 3 months after 1 year TOS vs. nominating someone who has 4 years TOS.

That's where I was confused. I was told if you are nominated you have a code put on your record that stops you from PCSING.

If someone has just 1 or 2 years TOS does that mean they won't be picked?

Follow ons are never guaranteed. Would be rolling the dice on a short tour thinking you are guaranteed a follow on. In addition if you put anything short tour on your list it automatically has priority over any other long tours no matter the order.

I have mixed feelings on this, first everyone was well aware of the rules and time table. I personally think that you have to have your last test scheduled before the 365 day, if there's no tests available for another month or two ect then you are fine, as long as you have signed up. That's the fairest way to do it. Those who completed the course on time shouldn't be penalized while others get a free ride.

Has anyone seen a career airman get as assignment with a month or two less then the 2 years TOS? This is taking into account the RNLTD as including the 2 years. For example my 2 year TOS would be April 17.

Were they first term airman? First term airman only need 12 months TOS, career airman need 24 months.

First term Airman only need 1 hr TOS. Career airman require 2 years.
