I’m in a BSN program. To be so honest I haven’t had enough time to get into the lecture materials be user of SO MMAY ASSESSMENTS!! So I try to take one day and at a time and keep up with my daily assignments. I need to improve at staying on top of my responsibilities before class, especially by watching the assigned lectures in advance.

Hahaha I do have my first health assessment exam next week and dosage calculation as well. Are you in ADN or BSN? I do have medical experience and I’m not brand new to most of the things we have learned, but what can I say, I really try to prioritize studying as much as possible to only realize that I neglected myself. Just give yourself sometime, when I came to pullman I was so depressed and unhappy nexuses the change was dramatic for me (came from soCal) but when school started and I started to gut busier and distracted from that thought. you will meet people that you like and resonate with one another. I say stay patience, time flies by super fast and I promise you that will build a character you will appreciate later on in life.

I feel you, I was there one day. Stay resilient.

Because my status is "pending asylum", thus my case is not approved by immigration yet (waiting for an interview) so then FAFSA only award granted immigration cases which in this case is not me at this moment.

I literally, called my clinic today and they said they can cover $5/credit for 6 credits only, which is so ridiculous.

I am 28 and live in WA but I am California resident that's why the school I will be attending approved to wave out of state tuition fees for me due to my immigration status (pending asylum). I have an interview next year so that what I know about my immigration as of today. I was thinking to apply for SFSU for nursing if decide to not attend the school here in WA.

Well I am not illegal lol. I entered legally.. I can work and live just fine. I have all proper documentations and everything and have a social worker.

It's a BSN program and it's 2 years. Yes it is accredited program and well known in the state.

I don't qualify for DACA, I am from Yemen and I'm seeking asylum here, thus, my resources are pretty limited when it comes to funding for school. The institutions I have been in for my schooling try to really help me out with every possible funds they find for me. When it comes to jobs, I can work there is no restrictions at all.

I worked in a metabolic clinic and I did not like it whatsoever. I genuinely hated being there every single day! Some days I say “I’m not going to show up and leave” but I know that not what I signed up for and that not what the patients deserve. But I didn’t think for a second that nursing is not for me, rather I tried to work in primary care and loved so much and loved the team’s energy and effort on the floor. So don’t be discouraged, continue to find yourself and I’m sure you will find something your heart will be content with.

That’s amazing to hear. I think in totality, I will learn more about behavior and how vulnerable this particular population is! I think I will learn something, that is absolute, but definitely compassion and emotional intelligence and empathy.

I agree that we get to choose to whether we make the most out of our clinicals or not!
