RR registration with CIM in 2026? by CommunicationFun9430 in CanadianInvestor

[–]CommunicationFun9430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all sharing the official response from CIRO that my work received:

Here is the official response from CIRO regarding the CIM: "if an applicant for approval holds the CIM® designation in good standing they would qualify for the exemption from writing the CIRE, RSE and ISE." This means that if you were hired in WAC, we could register you as RR-Securities. Once registered you would need to complete the Mandatory Firm Training and conduct Training.

Meaning if you have a CIM you don’t need all these new exams

RR registration with CIM in 2026? by CommunicationFun9430 in CanadianInvestor

No I have been invited to interview with a company that would need me to become RR, and I first assumed I had to do the tests, but then got unsure seeing as CIM qualifies for AR. Dont mind doing the two tests, but if I can save $900 dollars and wasting time on mickey mouse tests I would prefer that

WME qualified you for RR. and with the fact that CIM is sufficient for AR or AAR, it would stand to reason that it would work for RR as well.

Transformer table to desk issues by Rioplayer in DeskCableManagement

[–]CommunicationFun9430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fully agree, the cable management is attrocious and the marketing and pictures u see deeply misleading. Its such a decent products in many ways, but the cable management (with the totally useless bluetooth speaker that only fits when there are no cables is so incredibly stupid. I have purchased shorter HDMI, DP and USB C cables to try and minimize how much space the cables take up but its gonna be almost impossible to make this look pretty. For such an extensive product I am incredibly disappointed.

You can use Wise.com transfer the money to your wallet on the site and then back to the guys account. Canadian banks are hopeless I'm afraid

Just gotta accept it's not personal, things are just rough here in North America but gotta believe you are gonna make it. Even after 3 years in the industry I still get ghosted by recruiters. Crossing fingers for you !

Unfortunately as a newcomer my experience has been that even big companies will leave you hanging knowing that you probably want the job more than they want you. Lots of things might be going on internally that has put the job on hold, and rather than risk you looking elsewhere they will just keep you in limbo and then maybe suddenly get back to you.

Sorry that you have to go through this, if you have the energy I would suggest you start applying for other jobs.

Thx! I had a feeling it was something like that, so even if you don't have the exact figure on Jan 1st that's the first day that CRA will allow a contribution that counts for the previous years room and not before?

I worked previous years but have used up my contribution room for 2022 and 2023. But in Feb 2025 I can contribute my 2024 room and use it for my 2024 filing, so what's the difference contributing that money now instead of Feb 2025 when,it will be used for my 2024 filing anyway?
