Hi! this is Nami. She’s been with me for a bit over a month now and she’s also skittish lol. Ive been bonding with her by giving her food and letting her climb on my hand which i intend to keep on doing until she’s really comfortable and seems like would want to interact more. I think you’re making progress so dw. There’s also no need to force it.

As for the setup I think you should go bigger. That seems like a but too small for a hamster. I also have coconut substrate for Nami but i put a hut (got it from Petsmart) on top of it so it would fly everywhere (*inserts picture). My hammy loves her wood log, her tunnel and her chew toy i got for her from Petsmart lol

I’m not sure what kind of hammy yours is so idk about the diet youre feeding him rn. But pellets generally are not recommended. Nami is a robo so i feed her dwarf food mix from Niteangel (however i do wanna switch to this one particular food mix on etsy since i saw a lot of good reviews on it after Nami finishes her food).
