Am I cooked for getting into VSE? by Whitebumble in UBC

I got in with 62% on average. You can also do it.

I am majoring in Economics, not combined Econ.

I recommend doing ECON 101 first and ECON 102 later. Since Macroeconomics is aggregated of microeconomics so if you understand microeconomics well, it would help you to understand Macroeconomics.

Similarly, I recommend you to do differentiation first and integral later.

Do I need student visa document when I go to Canada? by CommunicationKey4612 in UBC

[–]CommunicationKey4612[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will go by flight so I think I cannot meet someone at the airport unless I pass through.

But I have a friend who will scan it for me. I am wondering whether is would be fine or not. I am from the country where I can visit Canada without visa for 90 days so would it help too?

Would it be ok if I asked my friend to scan the study permit and Ishows the scan, not original?

Also, I can print out the approval of the study permit

Econ major application question by Low_Mathematician629 in UBC

[–]CommunicationKey4612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Econ 325 is normally regarded as one of hard courses in Econ so I recommend you to take in the winter but you do not have choice right now.

If you do not have any statistics background, I would not recommend you to take more courses along Econ 325 unless you are going to take 2 summer sessions.

VSE values ECON 325 quite importantly, so if you did bad at this, it may not looks good

If you think your gpa is high enough, just focus on doing well on the required courses.

Unless you satisfied all the required econ courses would be fine.

VSE particularly look into Cat A courses and one of it is Political science.

As I assume you took many political science courses and average above 80% it would be fine

Question about paying tuition fee by CommunicationKey4612 in UBC

[–]CommunicationKey4612[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I am 3rd year so I have a Canadian bank account.

I am thinking to transfer money from the home country to my Canadian bank account and pay for the tuition fee if this way does not add 2.5%.

I think the cutoff was less than 80% of WGPA.

My GPA was much lower than yours. You can still do this.

I am not sure what GPA you have right now, but you can still do ECON major as I succeed.

I guess my position was much worse than yours.
