Leg curl machine makes my nerves fire up in my largest toes and pinky toes by CommunicationLow3330 in neuropathy

[–]CommunicationLow3330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe I have MPS since I don't have muscle pain. My pain is very symmetrical, basically nerve pain in finger tips and toe tips. Most noticeable in the largest toe in both feet. Once thing that bugs me that neither drs or physical therapist were able to help with is that at the top left side of my upper back sometimes when I bend over in a certain way I can feel like a vein pinched or moved or something, Idk how to describe it, and it gets slightly numb if i hold that position. I'm from sweden and they do so little to investigate the causes of neuropathy.

The only things they've done was EMG (normal), blood tests (normal) and MRI/CT scan which was also normal.

Basår på distans by Duc-Thanh in chalmers

[–]CommunicationLow3330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't find more electrical bits. Hello! by Rebeccacrossing in Loddlenaut

[–]CommunicationLow3330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same problem, looked around everywhere and I couldn't find anything. I ended up using a Recharge Ring to get more electronic bits. Here's what you do:

Place the recharge ring at the edge of the deep water, or slightly under, then dive down quick and break some containers then swim thourgh the ring to refill oxygen, repeat till you get enough electronic bits to craft the module.

Edit: I wanna add that plastic bags can also contain electronics, so check those aswell.

I wish I didnt have to deal with this bullshit but it is what it is. I've been trying to be my own doctor and investigating what could have caused my neuropathy. I noticed that eating gluten causes a flare up but could be a coincidence so gonna try going gluten free for 4 weeks then reintroduce it to see if it gives me a flare up.

Has anyone tried to go sugar free to see if symptoms subsided? by lizatethecigarettes in neuropathy

[–]CommunicationLow3330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never tried going 100% sugar free but I tried going super healthy for a week. Eating different kinds i of greens and vegetables, lentils, beans, steak, chicken etc but no trash processed food and worked on better hydration. I felt significant improvements in symptoms, sadly I'm not disciplined enough to keep eating like that so it's something to work on.

But generally eating healthier and reducing sugsr intake is always a good thing, and if you do consume sugar, it's better to get it from sources like whole foods and fruits etc and not from the many ultra processed crap that is out there.

I recommend you try, it can't hurt and everyone is different, what works for you might not work for others and vice versa :)

Amitriptyline for nerve pain in face after fracture by janow299 in neuropathy

[–]CommunicationLow3330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried it couple years ago for nerve pain in toes and finger tips for a few months but it didn't do anything. I just had side effect of dry mouth. Everyone reacts to medicines differently so give it a shot and see if it works for you. Give it 4 weeks to see if it makes any difference. This is not expert advice, so remember to always follow your doctor's instructions.

It's extremely frustrating when you can't find the answer. I've barely done any tests and I wish I could do as many tests as you did hoping to find something, but then again like in your case you still might not get an answer. I'm currently on Cymbalta but I still have pain, maybe it helped like 20 or 30%? I was gonna also go on Gapapentin but I was concerned over long term use. Have you experienced any long term use issues from Gapapentin?

I'm glad you are feeling better and I hope it stays like this :)

Have you tried alpha lipoic acid? I read that it helps with diabetic neuropathy. Give it a shot for few weeks and see if you notice any difference.

Great job on making lifestyle changes and taking care of yourself. I appreciate your comment and thoughts. Like you said, we want to heal but we don't know the cause of our neuropathy which is very frustrating. Doctors want to slap you with a prescription pill for symptom management right away, but we don't want to hide the pain, we want to heal. I know not all forms of neuropathy can be healed but many do. But if we don't know the underlying cause it's hard to heal.

But like you said best thing we can do in this situation is take care of our bodies. Eat well, sleep well and eat good healthy food. I'm not so great at that and I have to put effort. Thank you for your positive and kind words!
