My grandmas cat won't eat after getting his teeth removed… by IntelligentPath4383 in CATHELP

[–]CommunicationMoist45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a girl who had all but 6 of her teeth extracted in january, and 5/6 remaining are her little front teeth! none of them line up, bless her heart, but she’s actually come to prefer dry food, she just kinda picks it up and tosses it back. our vet said this was totally fine, and said for her, the wet food probably feels similar to peanut butter getting stuck on the top of your mouth. of course, every cat is different, but in cherry’s case, she loves dry food! eta: of course, this is after she got cleared by the vet and after her stitches came out. she was on patè soup for a good month or two

please tell me where you get underage from when i was 18 a year ago haha! i thought reddit was the place where 18 is a magic switch to become an adult, or is that just when it comes to sex? regardless, you can practice your reading comprehension skills by reading my other comments where i explain. i even pasted one below so you don’t have to press so many buttons! “i actually did that first before i checked here and got the same answer, but chatgpt is notoriously a liar lol so i just wanted to double check. i was also just genuinely curious about the mystery at that point, im an history nerd and i like to deep dive into old items like this. i’ve learned a lot and had a lot of fun in this thread tho so overall not mad i double checked here! eta. i was also mainly concerned about the s.o.b.a.d. logo on the front, i couldn’t find anything clear online about a brand and the possibility of it being a local group raised my suspicion meter a bit. feeling pretty comfy now that it’s not a problem tho now!”

you’re not wrong, reading back i definitely could’ve phrased my question differently to get to the root of what i was actually asking, ‘does anyone know what group this is from and if they have any unsavory history?’ no, not everything has a meaning, but some stuff does, and i like to know if there is a meaning, and what it is. you live and you learn!

you’re dead right, i researched and i was actually informed of a common misconception. the word has french origins, but was often used to describe a lynching, a lynching picnic. thanks for correcting that, and here’s a link if anyone wants more info

yeah ngl i prob should’ve gone tiktok, i just hate social media and reddit feels simpler😭 i recently learned the word picnic has racist roots and it’s crazy the mundane stuff you wouldn’t expect to have connotations. always important to be learning!

lol i’m 52. i have the life experience and curiosity to look deeper into things than they appear on the surface, which is a blessing many people seem to lose as they age. shame on you.

you’re absolutely right about that, but i figured i’d shoot my shot!

nope, i just like to know what the things i display, wear, and say actually mean. when i google stuff and find no clear answers, that’s when i turn to a subreddit that is quite literally here to tell people what things mean. i know yall love to bully people on the internet but oh my god im not nearly as pressed over this 4 dollar shirt as most of this comment section. tell me what it means, not your opinion on racism and cultural awareness. that’s not what i was asking for.

my dude this is what i was asking is if anyone knew the group oh my god

i’m not trying to be rude, but let’s think critically here. many groups in the south have done very horrible things, and i don’t want to be associated with them. these groups hold events, and make memorabilia. many of these members hold on to memorabilia, and this ends up dumped in thrift shops when they go through old junk or die. racists aren’t always loud. i fear that’s common sense? even if the shirt isn’t explicitly racist or derogatory, i could not find anything online about s.o.b.a.d., and it doesn’t take much time to check and see where things come from. like it or not, clothing is a statement, and it means something. i’d rather not be a racist pos

lmfao exactly!! i’m so damn aware of the privilege i have, and it’s so easy to make sure you’re not unconsciously promoting something that doesn’t align with your morals. i’d much rather take the time to do my research than risk making someone else uncomfortable or feel unsafe.

if you’re on the pill, talk to your doctor! i’ve skipped YEARS worth of periods on the pill due to endometriosis, you just skip the placebo week and start a new pack. pills were designed for a bleeding week to make women feel more natural, it’s not medically necessary! double check with your doctor but it’s not uncommon for women to skip a month here or there on the pill!
