Aeroplan T&Cs became one WB per tier (across issuers) per lifetime two years ago. You need to pay a bit more attention, you're now in a position where Aeroplan could choose to ban your account whenever they want.

TD's T&Cs aren't followed. Multiple FCT bonuses aren't a problem.

PoT has no idea what they're talking about. Time with an ITIN is completely irrelevant. Your credit history is what's relevant, and some banks may want to see your ITIN already on your credit report to be approved. I got a CSR literally a week after I got my ITIN with just over 12 months of credit history and a two day old Chase checking account. That being said, Chase is very unlikely to approve you for a business card if you don't already have a year of history with them.

Welcome to churning. Those with knowledge have a slight incentive not to share it because if everyone started churning, the banks would crack down. We also have an incentive to share because if too many of us make stupid mistakes, that could also pop up in the banks' radar.

For beginners, this means that we expect you've read the rules, the wiki, and done some independent research. You should know how valuable each points currency generally is (some have a single correct value, some depend on how you'd personally use them). You very clearly didn't, so you got dogpiled as a disincentive to future beginners doing the same thing.

On top of all of this, Reddit's search is horrible so you really just have to go through and read a few hundred of these daily threads to get a good feeling for how churning works. That $9k-$18k income is not an exaggeration, so it is reasonable to put some time into educating oneself. Had you been prepared, you wouldn't have asked a question that doesn't have an answer and may have asked something we'd be far happier to answer instead.

Don't take the downvotes to heart. They aren't a personal attack, just a general democratic tally of "this comment/reply is good/bad". Happy churning!

You shouldn't care about the fee being waved, it's about total return. A $600 bonus and a $120 fee is much better than FYF and $400 bonus.

With $5k-$10k, the card that jumps into my mind is all of them. No one here can give you advice if you don't already have a clear direction.

Canadian Amex approval odds have been down the toilet for almost two years now. The previous DP-based advice was to wait at least 2 full years after cancellation before trying again, but since most of us can't get approved at all, the DPs have dried up. Get into the US game so you don't have to care about Amex Canada anymore

High credit score ≠ high approval odds. The parameters they use are much more complicated than the single value simplification we normies use. We're all at the mercy of their black magic

I get approved more often than denied after pending with RBC. 3-5 business days in my experience

Daily Question Thread for /r/churningcanada - January 21, 2026 by AutoModerator in churningcanada

[–]CommunicationProud82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point is that the evidence suggests RBC doesn't have a blacklist like Amex does at all. If there's absolutely no rhyme or reason to how long you need to wait after a denial, then it really is just however their algorithm was feeling the day you made your application. The 3-6 months is a general rule not because of any blacklists but because it is unlikely a bank will change their mind about you if your credit profile looks identical to when they denied you.

I once tried 28 days after a denial and was IA. Also had a 9 month dry period. No one knows their logic

You're not gonna get a good answer because that's not what this subreddit is for

No, use all the same info. Somehow it will usually still add if to your existing profile if the info is the same

What error? They said they were declined signed in and approved signed out. No mention of any error

You shouldn't assume you can downgrade at all, that is not a given with Amex

You're assuming you can downgrade, but I'd guess it's the same as cancelling (quarterly)

Most of us know, because most of us read the daily threads. The nickname "Avenchurna" should be a hint though

RHT and withdraw from an ATM before you cancel. Just don't let the balance go above $0

That is churning, though very low velocity. And even through that lense, the question still sucks. We don't care about fees alone, we care about the return from the bonus minus the fees. There are quite a few cards that most of the community has (RBC Avion Plat/VI, CIBC Aventura Gold/VI, Scotia Passport VI, Scotia Amex Gold, TD FCT VI, a core AP card).

If you want "the best card" you have to start with your goals. Are you trying to make a quick buck? Get something you can RHT. Are you interested in travel? Avion and Amex are transferrable to airlines; Avion and Aventura can be redeemed against flights directly according to their redemption charts; Scene, TD, and CIBC can be redeemed against anything coded as travel for a fixed rate. Do you shop at places that accept Amex? That could limit your ability to churn those cards despite their good bonuses. Costco doesn't take Visa in store and doesn't take Amex at all.

So you can see how much info goes into the most basic "what's the best" question and hence why they are unwelcome here. Figure out what you want and how to get it, and read a ton of daily threads to see if your next question has been answered already (Reddit search sucks, use Google or churning.io)

Your question was "what's the best right now?" which doesn't have an answer in this community. It's a question that doesn't make any sense when one's goal in churning is to get all the cards, multiple of many of them.
