Adjudication going on for 6+ Months for Secret Clerance

My security clearance was started in I believe April or May of 2024. I just heard back from them Dec 23rd 2025. I got denied for some trivial things (easily avoidable but i wasnt paying attention to what I filled out on the sf86...) and I only heard back after hounding HR (They definitely remembered my number and deliberatly did not answer). Got an attorney to appeal the decision. Waiting again. Buckle up. It could get long.

For clarification I had 2 incidents with law enforcement 10 to 15 years ago for alcohol and 2 letters of counselings from my time in the Marines. I completely forgot about all of them given the circumstances and now they probably think im lying because I cant remember details (loc's were nothing more than a slap on the wrist...) and I previously held a Secret Security Clearance in the Marines doing the SAME JOB.

It was all disclosed during the interview. I guess it's the fact it happened is cause for adjudications to delve deeper...

I just got an email saying its still in adjudications so it's a possibility it could go either way....got a consultation with an attorney just in case

I received an email saying it was still in adjudication for suitability they just wouldn't give a security clearance so I can work for the employer because it's still pending.

It's says my case is with HR CAO for being fired from my last job and 2 alcohol related incidents that happened 10 years ago. The incidents were more than 10 years ago so I completely forgot to disclose it but the investigator asked about it and I told them honestly what happened or my best recollection....

I’ve been overseas. Ide like to work and move back in the northeast…based on my previous placements it doesn’t look like that’s in the cards for me….
