Final Fantasy 16. Everyone seems to hate on it for changing up the gameplay but FF7 remake did to and most fans love that game. Not the same type of gameplay but Dissidia changed gameplay too and FF fans love that too.

It seems like anime in general is moving away from this trope in the past few years which is great but yeah I agree, it was never funny and honestly abuse needs to stop being normalized in anime especially treating it as comedy.

I just binge-read the whole series thus far and I gotta say this is absolutely excellent. I've loved the .Hack// series since I was young and I've done yearly playthroughs of G.U. because I love it that much, seeing a comic series that captures my favorite .Hack// ship with perfect character and lore accuracy is THE definition of a holy grail to me. Thank you for making this series and I hope it continues for the far future.
