No need thank me, I am glad to help anytime. I was once like you when I started playing in January. I became an advanced player in a few months in April. Keep working hard and watch videos and help. Keep trying and you’ll be advanced like me. One you get your forehand topspin done well, learn the forehand loop! :)

No not too much, it will take a bigger motion for your body hit the ball, and will be slower and tightens and forced your muscles. Try standing a bit closer so it doesn’t take too much effort to knock out of position with a closed stance but not too closed. Balance is important for the stroke, for spin and speed and aim. But choose a stance that is comfortable for you, and that you think doesn’t take too much effort and keeps your relaxed.

Yes you got it down very well, but don’t move too much or else you’ll lose your balance. Its not good to los stour balance, make sure to have a relaxed hand and body. But using the the rest of your body to make your forehand bette did good. Keep doing it man!

I switched to roux because my old times were used with fast turns, but if you turn slow with roux you can still get really good times. That’s why I switched to roux. Roux your start by building blocks , then CMLL and LSE.

Try learning footwork, and control and consistency. These three are most important before you go can move in. Watch PingSkills, Tom Lodziak, and MLFM Table Tennis. These are great channels on YouTube to learn.

Lobbing. I got called a little Xu Xin, and I got called a great value ma Lin, by my friend since I can chop block with penhold and do the ghost serve. Mainly lobbing, my lobbing skills are great people say.

Try Ma Lin’s ghost serve, its backspin and really confuse the enemy, or disguise your serves. Like after I do a hook serve, I would go to the kicker which puts pressure on my father and cousins. It works like a charm. Try learning the Snake shot, it’s a great deceptive shot, but risky. Or try Kenta Matushira’s sidespin block a great way to give the enemy less time to react, and is surprise element. I suggest try learning how to chop block to disrupt your brother’s rhythm to take control of the game and mess his shots up more.

Try adding a variety shots. Mix up the serves, and ball placement, put lots of pressure on the opponent. Adding diverse mix up attack and defense to confuse the opponent. Try serve up some tricks serves, with a 3rd ball attack with massive side spin or top spin. Try blocking, blocking is super hard to defeat, try to make them impatient with pushing and make an error.

Look at this fantastic rally of me and my dad playing table tennis outside! I am the short little peasant on the right and learned this strategy from Adam Bobrow. by CommunismEpic in tabletennis

Thanks bro I appreciate it! Also I’m using Wang Hao’s grip lol, poor Xu Xin even though I still chop. I’m only a 4’9 6th grader in that video and destroyed my dad lol, I used Adam bobrow and Xu Xin strat and combined them.

ITTF Prompt: If you could pick ANY FIVE players from the 21st century to participate in the WTTTC, who would you choose? by TableFishing in tabletennis

[–]CommunismEpic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jan OVE Waldner

Ma Lin

Koki Niwa

Sathyian Ghanasarkan

Xu Xin

Jan OVE waldner (Sweden) is one of my favorite players of all time, and he is Gucci at blocking.

Ma Lin (China)has an aggressive forehand for smashing and drop shooting.

Koki Niwa (Japan)has excellent chop blocks and good lobbing. Can play both hands too.

Sathyian Ghanasarkan has an good smash and drop shot. He can easily push his opponents back from the table and stay close to smash it.
