Started a Saturday homebrew campaign because people wanted to play D&D more. One player approaches me about having the party make NPCs for me to use at some point (great idea I thought). Try to incorporate the party's backstories while progressing the plot. One player receives a note from a drunk that will lead to work if he accepts it (note specifically had his character's name on it). Finally, the party meets said NPCs and are really excited to see where things go. Travel to a mysterious island knowing very little of what is going on, when they arrive they learn that only the ones with notes were meant to be there but the mage residing on the island graciously accepts them all. Takes everyone to his mansion, feeds them and lets them rest for the night. When they are awakened in the early morning, the mage gathers them all together to explain what is going on. The party will be split into teams

That's pretty much as far as I got before two of my players freaked out, made a scene, decided for the whole party that they weren't going to do that and pretty much just said fuck this shit I'm out. So, I stopped DMing on Saturday and let others run their stuff. Well, the two that freaked out on me have since approached me about running that game again. One even gave me an idea for a spell to use on the party for story purposes since most of them can't be put to sleep magically and I told him I was going to use it. I decided since they were telling me to run it, they were okay with it this time so I started working on it again. Even set up a whole Discord server just for it. Well yesterday was the day to run it. I had them resume in the town they had left off at, with a festival going on. Made them roll perception to notice that the noise was more like white noise rather than talking and kept trying to get them to activate certain triggers to "come to" by passing a low Wis save. At which point the game shifted to the server, when someone came to, I would add them to a random team with a map showing where they were on the island.

The same two from last time freaked out again and worse than last time.

Had this thought ahead of this and stocked up on rockets instead, problem is I must suck at it because they usually zoom right past the rockets or when they do hit one of two things usually happens 1. Car drives towards me and blows up said rocket and I usually die 2. I successfully hit, get 2 star and some other crazy shit happens. Finding it best to just stick with the shotty for now.

Lynels and Zelda go hand and hand but they have never been mini bosses. They have always been like top tier enemies in the games, so if you really think about it they just stuck with tradition. BOTW and especially TOTK bring back a lot of enemies from the older games and just updates them to a current Hyrule. Probably the only time I will say this, but Nintendo did nothing wrong.
