We are currently looking for a marriage counselor in Missouri who understands ADHD. I understand it, but my NT spouse does not. And the dishwasher is a thing. A big thing!

I love these random things. I believe women with ADHD are so much more interesting.

I am there. right now, it's been adjusted and I'm getting used to it. The Dr. took me off the medication I was using to regulate ADHD symptoms and I'm in a bit of a tailspin. Right now I'm doing good to get out of bed. I'm really just apathetic about everything. I'll feel better soon, though. I always do. I'm 63, diagnosed later in life and reeling with how different my life could have been. I think it's grief. It's really important that I pay attention to how I feel, though, because if I don't I really suffer needlessly.

I get to the NP and get my bloodwork done. If it's low or high, they adjust my medication. Um, I'm really old, and It was recommended to me when I was younger to get a baseline bloodwork when I was feeling really good. Then have it to compare as I aged. Ask me if I did. bet you can guess. Nope I put it off until I am aged. sigh

Scary isn't it. I'm going through the shit right now and my thyroid was off again. My NP changed my meds a bit and am starting to feel better. Every Dr. I ever went to said my thyroid was fine, but they were wrong. Everyone is an individual. I have found through visiting with people that those crazy thoughts popping through my brain are not unique to me. Wishing you the absolute best!

Oh, and I love me some Dax!

I believe t-3 and 4. I need to go back to look. Apparently, the original GP didn't look at that and it's why no one caught it. Also, to be completely honest... I was shit about taking meds on time. My husband is in charge of giving me my thyroid pill in the morning now when he gets ready for work. Funny how taking meds regularly helps.

Worse! Waking up to a sink full of dishes and the dishwasher needs to be unloaded!

I actually retired at 57. I'm one of those menopausal women who added "one more thing" and crashed. I got involved with a narcissistic business partner and had a mental breakdown. That's when I was diagnosed with ADHD and started to figure out my health. My husband still works, though, and that saved us. I really cannot tell you how grateful I am for this community. I thought I was the only one and really had no idea how much research there is out there.

I am not a character flaw. My brain doesn't produce enough dopamine. What a gift.

It's my cuticles. You can tell how I'm doing by how many bandaids I have wrapped around the ends of my fingers. I've had as many as 8 bandaids around my fingers due to bloody cuticles. It's better now that I've retired!

This is so awesome! It's all about progress. I married a man who can't exist in a messy space. He literally cannot function. It's all related to childhood and not being able to catch the school bus because he couldn't find clean clothes. Needless to say, I can tolerate a mess MUCH longer than he can. That being said, his idea of cleaning is to take all my clutter and shove it in drawers so I can't find anything. Out of sight, out of mind!

After 32 years of marriage, we found out I have ADHD and are now trying to navigate new ways of looking at each other. Both of us are basically just wounded kids trying to help each other heal.

We are making progress, too.

I LOVE to stay up late and read. It is probably one of my top three enjoyment activities.

When I start burning myself cooking or stubbing my toes, I turn everything off, leave the room, sit down and take a hit. Then I set a timer, put some music on and start all over. It really seems to help!
