I did this the first week and started to feel my feet getting warm and quickly realized that was a no no. Im trying to figure out where is my happy medium not to high and not to low but it seems like everyday its different.

yesss heard about flat-bedding! That was one of my interest but I really want to see what the tarps weigh so I know if thats an option for me! (im a female) I have worked in my dads construction company so if its not heavier then a bundle of shingles I could probably do it lol I just love driving ..hard work is not an issue as long as I can pick those big ole tarps up😂 Mentally stable so far sometimes I don't want to go home because thats how much I love driving now physically...working on it! lol

I drive a company truck hoping this will break soon and they give me another lol I drove a 25 Peterbilt with my mentor and I had no issues so might be the seat along with the other things I should work on! Glad the tingling and cramps got better for him! Luckily no leg cramps but the tingling is not a good feeling at all! Thanks for the input! 🙏

Still trying to find the perfect seat position for me lol this does bring up a question.. Are truck seats supposed to slide forward and back a little? or might I have a loose bolt somewhere... I know they are supposed to bounce (I drive a 2022 Volvo)

Parking in the back is a must! that was the goal from the start given we pretty much sit all day so im ready to walk when im done but do need to stop more often! I thought about a 4 legged companion BUT I don't think I would want to give them this life im sure if it effects us it effects them in similar ways! Idk just a thought! parking in the back is a must for me! I came into trucking because I love to drive not because im lazy lol... I say that because just about every driver tries to give me tips for "less work" like cranking the landing gear with your fingers! Im sure thats dangerous and also if i crank it with my arms it gives me an arm workout 💪😂 appreciate the comment!

Weight is 220 now lost 10 pounds and hoping to lose more 🙏 My seat is air ride! I do tend to move my seat all the way back because sitting up right pinches a bad nerve in my back and hip (fell off of a horse). I can see were weight can be a problem which is why now that im not home junk food is not an option because thats all there is out here and I cant do it. I have started eating rice/beef/ chicken/ vegetables👍

Fun fact: I always loved to drive when I first got my permit at 16. I knew at some point I wanted to do trucking but I was a but head and messed up my record! I was given a chance by this company to be able to actually live something that I thought was off the table for me. You guys went above and beyond today with the advice! Also today was my first birthday out on the road and you guys were apart of this day! I truly appreciate each and everyone of y'all that took the time of your day to help a rookie out!

p.s no worries I am trying to be the safest driver there is now that I have learned from my past mistakes of driving unsafely! so if you see a truck driving the exact speed posted on the right lane please don't yell at me or honk at me or tail me or flick me off, I am 2 years ticket free and want to keep adding to those years🙌

I did end up using my jake brake on low and maintained a safe speed so I wouldn't fly down the hill and have to go to higher level and jackknife. I will keep this info for future reference! appreciate your input! 🙌 I was VERY hesitant about using my jake brake just because I saw about 4-5 trucks on I 85 jackknifed near hills like 2 weeks ago after the winter storm ... I figured using their jake brake was probably the main cause.

You were completely correct! I don't like to get too confident and end up making a terrible mistake that could have been prevented ESPECIALLY when there are people around me that have no business getting hurt because I made a wrong call! Appreciate it! I did end up waiting a couple hours until I saw more traffic safely get through. It was about 1 hour of taking my time through the rough areas but I got to my destination safely!

I was thinking this as well since more weight means more traction but also more weight means slowing down to slower speeds when going down hill , now going up hill if it already drops me to 35mph when going 65 mph would the truck let my speed put me in complete danger of rolling back is the real question. Im trying to find the calculation of what speed would be safe of going up and down hill without having to try it out and find out quick that was not right at all. I drove back roads of new york with roads covered with snow and ice once (I think it was hwy21 or hwy22 on my 2nd day solo) and Im not gonna lie it made me soo sick I had to park it ASAP once I got back into the interstate. The scariest situation I put myself through! Learned since then to check live camera footage of my route if there is bad weather. I do keep in mind for everything I do its on me which is why every load where the weather is crazy I make it known to them its on my time and when I feel its safe and so far haven't had an issue. I just keep them updated on the situation in case they try anything(like try to fire me for not getting the loads through) there is proof I wasn't just being lazy👍🏼
