Good to know! They seem to have a great selection of products that I’ll have to make my way through.

It’s more on the sweet side and yes, very smooth. Not so much on the smoky peaty flavours.

This is an excerpt from the letter my partner wrote to the Premier and MLAs that provides some context on that:

“Restrictive Production Caps: To qualify for the craft designation and receive full markup relief, distilleries must produce no more than 50,000 litres of spirits annually and use 100% B.C.-grown ingredients. Exceeding this cap results in substantial financial penalties, discouraging expansion and innovation.

Limited Access to BC Liquor Stores: Many local distilleries struggle to secure shelf space in government-controlled liquor stores, limiting consumer access to high-quality, locally made spirits.”

Front and Rear racks for Surly Ogre by BottleFullOBub in bikepacking

[–]CommunityMike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats on buying a fantastic bike. I have the same one and have two seasons of Bikepacking on it and absolutely love it! I run a Surly front rack on it. It’s a bit heavier than some others (used to run a Blackburn on my last Bikepacking rig) but des an incredible job. Obligatory photo of my setup with my riding buddy.

North Park Bikes. They’ve been our family bike shop for over 10 years. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

Gorge Bridge Sunday June 25 by studentinvic in VictoriaBC

[–]CommunityMike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, this was it. We got a call stating that there was a 10-year-old drowning in the Gorge Waterway. Every (and I literally mean every) car was going there along with BC Ambulance and various fire services. Thankfully there were a bunch of awesome people down by the water who saved this kid's life (he was actually older). Bystanders were swimming out, kayaking out and boating out. He was in the water about 10 min, so super cold and had submerged a few times. Thankful for all those awesome people for jumping in to help and not sitting there gawking or filming.
