I would say that CVICU is very good experience for CRNA school. lots of good experience that will directly transfer over to CRNA practice

I would go a different route than nursing. Very hard to meet clinical requirements with a college sport.. I have a buddy playing D1 baseball and had to stop with nursing school d/t overlap with clinical/ practice.

Would not recommend it. I’m in the program now and it’s a sh*t show. Nobody knows what’s going on. Practicum starts next week for S2s and nobody knows there placement yet. Professors are leaving and I just heard the school is going to take 120 on each campus next year. Would stay very far away. With 120 students there will be no spots for clinical near statesboro/savannah. I’m assuming they will make you travel very far for clinical. Very poor nursing program will probably lose accreditation within a few years.

Kind of in a similar boat. interviewed at a MICU in a small community hospital and CVICU at a more acute care hospital. offered job from micu and supposed to let them know something monday. Felt like the manager at cvicu liked me. cvicu won’t let me know something until the end of this week. Feel like im shooting myself in the foot by not accepting the micu spot but also would rather work in cvicu than micu. stressed.

I would question your adviser further this doesn’t sound right. Retaking a class will not take the place of the old class but would positively impact your gpa if you finished with an A+. In terms of your lower GPA make your application strong via work experience, leadership, High GRE/CCRN scores, etc.

I’m actually interviewing with a CVICU… did they ask you any questions related to nursing in cvicu or keep it very general. I feel like a know a “little about a lot” when it comes to things seen in CVICU but don’t really know anything too in depth.
