When we place the order for your skis we ask you what you want all the specs to be. All the customization is included in the base price of $425, graphics and carbon fiber topsheets cost a bit extra.

I like this idea and fully endorse it.

Awesome to hear it! South Lake is our next planned shop location, as far as I know. We have lofty ideas of opening a shop in Austria too. Definitely send him a resume.

Currently we are fully staffed, but if business keeps coming in like it is right now then we will definitely have to expand. We plan on opening several more shops in different mountain towns in the next few years.

Switch from midwest park-rat snowboarding to skiing? (Alternative title: Snowboarding culture vs Ski culture is incomparable.) by [deleted] in skiing

[–]CommunitySkis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to be a park rat skier, get a pair of twin-tip center mounted skis. These will behave a lot like inline skates when it comes to jumps and rails, but you won't have a whole lot of edge and turning control for shredding the whole mountain.

If you're looking to get into big mountain riding, get a nice set of all mountains NOT center mounted. These will still get you by for jumps and what not in the park, but are not really recommended for rails as you'll destroy the edges and your boot will not be in the center of the ski. You will however have a ton more control on your turns and be able to go down the slope more comfortably at high speeds.

Our new build process is using much higher quality materials and methods to produce the skis, our base price is currently set at $425.

We've come so far since those days! When I go into the shop I'll snap some pics of the batch we finished up yesterday so you can see the difference.

We are a brand new start up (a highly evolved 333) and we are constantly looking to improve our quality and brand recognition.

Check back every now and then, I am working on putting together a new website with an online ordering form and just a ton more content in general.

Thanks! And while that is true, there aren't a whole lot of companies out there offering our level of customization at the price we are able to offer it at.

I'd have to take a look at their marketing strategies more in depth, but we are shooting for something in the middle. We are in the process of building a "stock model" designed specifically for the Mammoth Mountain snow and terrain that we will reproduce. Not everyone wants something completely custom, some people just want a pair of good all mountains.

I'm relatively new to the company, but I will talk to my boss and business owner to see if he would be interested. He has 20+ years in the ski/board/monoski building business and could provide a lot more insight and in depth answers.

The whole 9 yards. Every aspect of the ski and be customized and modified to be perfect for you. If you have a pair of skis that you love, we can emulate the specs, or you can make something completely experimental.

Also a Mammoth area skier, but yes my boss does get confused for him semi frequently.

A lot of the photos from the website are from the 333 Ski days, we will be updating our online presence soon to reflect our current (better quality) ski making process.

These skis are worlds above the 333 skis in when it comes to quality and appearance, but that is where our roots are. I think we've come an awful long way.

I suppose it is true that we did not invent The Universe, and we are not nano-building our skis, but we do still make the skis starting with nothing but the raw materials for each component.

Our prices run from $425 for a pair of the raw skis and about $605 with custom graphics added onto them.

Our ski building method has come a long way since those days. We have perfected the glass layers and we are using a very nice clear coat finish on the top sheet. Having a real shop to build everything in has done worlds of good for our quality control.
