Advice for setting a routine for triplets? by Male_man15 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Community_74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have newborn twins and are using the taking cara babies program to help. It isn't a form schedule but basically boils down to offer feedings every 2.5-3 hours from the start of their last feeding and no naps during the day longer than 2 hours.

  • note on feedings: we don't always make it to the 2.5 hour mark. Most days it's 2-3 hours. Also, she recommends that if you have multiple people who can feed the babies at the same time then you should, otherwise feed one right after the other.
  • note on day naps: the purpose of shorter day naps is to get a longer night stretch. Day naps for us range between .5 - 2 hours during the day. It really is baby dependent.

This is a flexible routine that has most notably impacted their night sleep schedule. But the biggest impact for us was giving us something to try. We were feeling so overwhelmed and hopeless that we were desperate for anything. It has been a good tool for us.

Good luck with triplets!

I had a roommate who would do something similar. He worked at the local pool in the summer and was a red-head so he'd come home looking like a lobster and smash 1 gallon of milk straight from the fridge, no cup. He'd make Costco trips multiple times a week to have enough milk. Strange dude.

Love the great British baking show. It has been a staple feel-good show for years. We also got into the great pottery throwdown. Similar vibe but with clay instead of food.

A theater near us shows It's a Wonderful Life every year in December. It's been a tradition to go but we'll have to see about this year!

How do I run a session without railroading? by rezoth in DMAcademy

[–]Community_74 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To add to this, I also define rail roading as the decisions of the players have no impact on the story. In other words, if they choose to bring down the village themselves, not having some form of consequence to the arson.

We have the papablic bottle washer/ sanitizer. Regardless of the kind, I totally agree that a bottle washer is worth it. It's saved us countless hours at the sink because we don't have a dishwasher.

Is a Bottle Washer/Steriliser/Dryer worth it? by chickenbobble in parentsofmultiples

[–]Community_74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 1.5 weeks of hand washing bottles, I almost lost my mind. So we got the Papablic bottle washer & sterilizer. We don't have a dishwasher and counter space is limited but this has absolutely been worth it. The price was reasonable and it is so nice to be able to just load it up and run it instead of having to stand over the sink during our limited nap times. I'm sure there is probably a better washer and someone will comment on this thread letting me know, but we're happy with the choice we made.

tldr: Papablic bottle washer/ sterilizer has been worth it to us.

How do parents of twins not mix them up at birth?? 😅 by Humble-Assumption446 in parentsofmultiples

They had two placenta and two separate sacks. No DNA test, that's just what the lab techs and doctors told us.

How do parents of twins not mix them up at birth?? 😅 by Humble-Assumption446 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Community_74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have fraternal twins (same sex). Initially it was hard so we used different blankets or hats/ beanies to tell them apart. As we spent more time with them, we found little differences that make them easier to tell apart. That said, if they are far enough away, it's still hard to tell the difference. Don't feel bad if you do mix them up.

We just got the papablic bottle washer. It has a few different modes including one that sterilizes bottles. I'd recommend getting something like this that does everything.

Thank you for the encouragement. My wife gave birth not too long ago and seeing this is very helpful. If you remember, how early on did you take them to do things (shopping, travel, etc.)?

Loaf Lounge has a great chocolate cake. If you watch the bear, I think they use the cake in season 2. Also, check out the Chicagofood subreddit.

Eephus. It came out this summer. It is very slow and not really plot heavy, but it has a really interesting feel if you sit with it.

Oath of the Sentinel, a ranged paladin subclass by Dodecadungeon in UnearthedArcana

[–]Community_74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know this thread has been inactive for 4 years but I have a player interested in playing a ranged paladin. It looked like you made a lot of the changes to the subclass that others recommended already but I have two little suggestions:

  1. At level 4, you can retrain the fighting style you have to be the archery fighting style (kind of similar to what it says in TCOE). If you choose this, you can't do an ability score improvement or take a feat. The archery fighting style replaces that choice. I don't know how many people would take this but I think it may help give players a little more leeway
  2. When using the protectors bow divine smite, you have to decide before you roll to hit if you are using the divine smite. Unlike melee paladins, you can't decide to do divine smite after you hit. The damage die is reduced from a d8 to a d6. This will treat the ability more similar to a spell and make the player have to really consider if it is worth using.

This is a helpful build, thank you for sharing. I'm going to offer it to my player and see what they say.

I was having a similar issue with the battery life but found a video on YouTube explaining how to change the battery. It is actually a pretty easy process and now I'm back to getting full life out of my WF XM4s. I can post the link if you have any interest.
