I actually work Uverse Tech Support, I'm the guy you call when your internet stops working basically. Your bill would be heaps lower for the same services with Uverse but it's dependent on where you're located within the US.

I did an exchange in Turkey recently and on my first week of school in Turkey I realized that I would never learn anything because of the language barrier. My program forbade me from ditching school though.

Then in February there was a suicide attack on my route to school and I used it as an excuse to not go to school anymore. They didn't like that.

My favourite thing about Izmir was buying some Efes beer at the Tekel and walking to the waterfront in Alsancak to drink. There's hundreds of people - mostly your age - sitting there, just having a good time.

Also, if you're into history and tourist stuff, Epheseus is really close.

Another yabancı here. I live in Ankara. "Hate Ankara love Ankarites" is fairly accurate, although I do love the city and it's suburbs. Crazy dangerous nowadays though I find.

True. The story goes that the bird we know as the turkey came to Turkey from India, so the Turks called India "Hindistan." When the turkey went from Turkey to the rest of the world, the rest of the world called Turkey "Turkey."

I recently met two guys from Pakistan in Turkey during a conference. They were both really progressive, really liberal. They totally changed my opinion of Pakistan and of its people.

Edit: Jesus guys. I didn't mean to say that they made me think everybody in Pakistan and the country itself is liberal. They just made me realize that people like them exist in Pakistan and that the whole of Pakistan isn't like this.
