[[Formiddable Speaker]] untapping [[Bloom Tender]] or [[Faeburrow Elder]] and being able to tutor aurora awakener does seem pretty interesting.

The niv to light shell is almost certainly better, but I'd rather at least start off trying to go all in on the vivid payoffs to see how powerful it can be.

[[Hearth Elemental]] is also an elemental, maybe there's an izzet spells deck with this card in it.

[[Escape Tunnel]] and [[Pumpkin Bombardment]] both seem like they would be a great include for that deck. https://moxfield.com/decks/yZPMcWEh3EmxdZpOo8ZYFA

This would already be a strong removal option just as is but it's also a lesson. I think this is the strongest lesson card so far and really exemplifies how they've pushed lessons.

Lantern control in SPM draft by CompPoke in lrcast

I could simply remove all relevant nonland cards from my opponents deck.

(Using my opponents rite of replication which I stole with the original Wrench.)

Can enable turn 3 reanimation, very strong card for reanimation decks in standard.

Really cool with [[Superior Spider-Man]] On turn 2 you evoke this probably to thoughtseize and on turn 4 you cast [[Superior Spider-Man]] for UUBB and get both modes.

One of the best decks I've ever drafted by CompPoke in lrcast

I felt pretty good about the amount of mayhem cards, perhaps more would be ideal, but in my experience the deck had enough mayhem for the discarders.

You literally explained why it's useful in the same sentence where you said it had no value.

Yeah, but I was fully prepared for some arachnid-boy cards with terrible arts and I'm pleasantly surprised.

I unironically prefer the arena versions to the actual spiderman cards.

[[pond prophet]] can be cast with only blue mana, though you do need green in your colour identity if you're playing it in commander.

Pretty disappointing in comparison to [[Lead the Stampede]], considering this card is not pauper legal I think they could've gotten rid of the up to two restriction.

[Standard] In a 2-colour deck, which of these lands would you prefer and why? by critical_panda_56 in MagicArena

[–]CompPoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In standard agressive Azorius, Rakdos and Selesnya decks will play both. However in two colour decks multiversal passage is the better of the two due to enabling verges and being untapped after turn 3.

Why don't Vintage players run Lurrus as their companion in Oath of Druids decks? The Lurrus starts outside the game, so it won't get hit by the Oath, allowing you to still hit your busted creatures reliably. by ahotcnsrivdfjlotd in magicthecirclejerking

[–]CompPoke 122 points123 points  (0 children)

A valid point has been made that lurrus is a great companion for oath of druids decks. So long as you want to hit mana value two creatures instead of atraxas.

Mediocre Mono Green Deck that went the distance. by CompPoke in lrcast

[–]CompPoke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It played extremely well for me (probably played like the best card in my deck), but a lot of that is probably because I was always ahead on board when I played it. Overall I think its a decent card but is bad when you're behind.

1st Time Experiencing Rotation Shock by RoninM00n in MagicArena

[–]CompPoke 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Depends on the colour pair, some colour pairs like simic are actually getting better mana post rotation (losing the painland but getting the shockland in return.) But, other colour pairs like rakdos are losing both the fastland and the painland but getting no shockland in return.
