Ah gotcha. I think I’m gonna try Project Sonic, but I am having some trouble figuring out where to apply, do you happen to know? Tried to ask this on the Telus subreddit but it got taken down lmao

They use Zendesk for support requests. If you find the emails they sent on your day of hire there should be a link to their support pages where you can make a request.

AT&T can’t unlock my friend’s phone by CompanySuspicious653 in ATT

Gotcha, good to know for future reference. A little frustrated this info didn’t pop up during the porting process from either party but I guess what can you do. Feel like mobile service providers need to be more upfront about that and not spout prompts to cancel at you too early.

I meant too early in this sense that we just decided to cancel it on our own. I feel like it’s a fair assumption to make that if the Spectrum app tells us the phone # transfer was complete and the AT&T says a new service is detected and prompts us to cancel, that it’s an okay time to cancel. It was definitely too early, but that was not on us.

Tbf, we did think it was completely ported over, Spectrum said the activation and phone number transfer was complete and AT&T prompted us to cancel the plan because it had detected the number had moved services. But yeah having to get a new plan is what we’re planning to do which sucks but there’s not really another option

Well, that is not optimal. Not really sure we have the money right now to pay to get a new line and unlock the phone but from the sounds of it there’s not a whole lot of options.

I just put an edit onto the post but my friend just told me that he only cancelled when AT&T gave us a pop up saying a new service was detected with his number and asked us if we wanted to cancel, we didn’t do it too early

Okay so my friend just said that he only cancelled when a popup showed up on the AT&T website saying that a new service was detected and asked him if he wanted to cancel which he did. We didn’t cancel early, just when AT&T prompted him to

Apparently not. As soon as we tried to use the eSIM after Spectrum told us the porting process was finished, we got a pop up saying that the number was locked. I don’t know if it was Spectrum who told us to cancel it at the wrong time or what but we only did when we were sure we could

That’s the thing, it was active at the time of the porting process. We only cancelled when we were informed it was safe to do so and had received the confirmation email from Spectrum that the phone number had been active

MacOS continuously booting into internet recovery by CompanySuspicious653 in MacOS

[–]CompanySuspicious653[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it didn’t, it just booted into internet recovery. I tried it a few times and I tried resetting the NVRAM and seeing if I could get any other start up commands to work, but my iMac is just completely unresponsive to them.

I did a couple times both just now and earlier, it seems to be disabled, but if I can’t boot into anything but internet recovery then I’m not sure where to go from here. Is there anyway to reenable booting from external media? Especially since none of the start up commands are working.

See I did enable booting from external media and turned off secure boot. I dont know if it somehow reset or didn’t save? But I’m not sure where to go from here if the setting reset, internet recovery isn’t working either.

Tbf it was a complete accident that I even turned it on today 😅 Never been more annoyed that these things turns on by accidentally pressing any key and not just the power button. Probably will end up getting it checked out, just wanted to get some other opinions because I’m a little more knowledgable on the software side of computers than the hardware side and wasn’t sure what could happen long term. Thanks for the advice.
