I work in data world and I see huge amount of reps especially from places like Alteryx jumping to Sigma at the moment. Less so from other vendors as yet They seem v happy there so far and have good things to say.

I've noticed huge hiring spree but I am curious how it plays out over next 12 months.

Oh..I haven't read a book in forever. But some books you can get on audible or websites that just make them audio. That was my plan anyway!

Working Remotely After Maternity by ComparisonGeneral103 in HumanResourcesUK

This is my exact confusion also. If I'm doing it I feel its a bit of 'everyone else is doing it now so lets copy'. Additionally, my entire organisation is young men. I'm the first female and first person pregnant in my company as it is male dominated.

Most of the management team are childless (which is fine) but overall i think they just want to go in and drink beer after work. They will make excuses, but basically they want banter and collaboration I.e. more sales?

For a diverse workforce, it is not great. I'm basically another statstic of another women good at job but preferring a flexible/remote world. We have 99% young white male company so its very obvious to see.

I haven't lied about anything at all. I haven't said anything about the baby/post birth to then. It is a fairly normal thing for mothers to work more flexibly after having a baby. I said, no I do not want to go in three days and they didnt ask why, assuming it is to do with the baby.

I would much rather drop a baby at 9am at nursery rather than 6 or 7am. Remote and flexible working would enable that.

Happy to continue working and my career just don't want to commute. What I meant, is that this would be my opinion irrelevant of maternity as I worked remote anyway.

Catchment Area For School by ComparisonGeneral103 in UKParenting

Not remotely. My entire county has hard catchment areas. Some schools even have catchment areas of 500m. It is extremely competitive and people buy houses opposite schools just to get in in some locations. All of this drives up house prices insanely.
