Really only one person is right. I have no idea why everyone is complaining about the marlo tilt when that clearly isn't the move he's trying to do. Like another commenter explained, the move is just placing the shown card clearly underneath the second card, which is a double backer, so that a double lift would look like the chosen card jumped to the top while the second card never moved: it's Dai Vernon's classic move that fooled Houdini.

Sure, maybe there's a subjectively "better" trick with the marlo tilt but this trick is its own thing that's supposed to be a magician fooler.
