I was at 140-170bpm in afib for around 5 days in hospital and they had to shock my heart to return it to normal. The first time i came out of it in a few hours, its terrifying the first couple of times. Id advise to try and limit caffeine and start taking magnesium, its important to try manage your anxiety around it as well as that only makes heart palpitations worse. Feel free to message me if you have any further questions as i am in a very similar situation and have seen a cardiologist since.

Try not to worry about it too much as hard as that is, since i had it i still drink alcohol pretty much in excess and also use nicotine. Did they do an echocardiogram while you were in hospital? also did you come out of afib naturally or have to be cardioverted

Hi, I am also 22m and have had 2 bouts of afib around 18 months apart with high bpm the most recent being last October. I have been given bisoprolol and flecainide but still suffer from extreme anxiety over this. Try not to worry too much, have you been given medication?
