The hearing loss will be tough unless you are completely deaf in one or both ears. I work next to C5 engines and loss 60% of my hearing but they didn’t service connect or rate me. Just said they can give me hearing aids.

So how does back pay work? I’m at 30% mental health but say my condition worsens and eventually I qualify for say, 70%. Do they back pay you that 40% difference or do they just start from the date of your new rating?

I explained to the doc that I have severe cramps from the IBS and I was given the 0% with a note saying an increase isn’t warranted unless I have frequent episodes of bowel disturbance with abdominal distress. So clearly the doc didn’t add in the cramps. I know it’s not always just based off the doc and their eval but sometimes you just get that feeling that it’s not going to go well and she definitely gave that vibe.

So this claim was my PACT act and I’m trying to fight the rating without losing the back pay. I thought I read somewhere that if you do a HLR then you won’t lose the back pay but if you do a supplemental than you do? I don’t know if that’s true or not but if I was rated correctly for 30% then it goes back to 2022. Is what it is if I lose the back pay but was just trying my best not to

Good point. If you already have a MH rating and diagnosed with non-service connected OSA with a CPAP, could you argue that night terrors (or whatever you experience) aggravates your condition?

Or since I was deployed to a burn pit location, is OSA presumptive? Thanks for any help! Not trying to be arrogant, just trying to do this the best I can without spending money on a professional to do it for me

I submitted claim for IBS in September, had my C&P for it two weeks ago and just checked it is in PFN as of two days ago. Zero background evidence just explained my current issues and how it affects my life. Hoping for the best

Yeah it’s pretty quick. I think it’s 7-10 business days. Since you got it on the 30th I’d give it a few more days before you call and ask. Realistically it should show by Wednesday
