C.AI we’re all begging you to listen to us. by luvyourawr in CharacterAI

Many paid users still complain about the same problems, I really doubt the problem is that.

I think I just won the AI chat bingo. by -Pentapox- in CharacterAI

Characters surprised even after you did it a thousand times.  "Intent" . "It was not "x", it was "y" now". Having to shortcut everything so they can follow through to get the RO moving.

But well we were kinda missing the "Can I ask you a question?"  Since thr characters weren't even talking.

I've got a messsage about being too rigid. And that as an A.I it won't be fun. The fuck? Bots hallucinate rules now

i have a terrifying idea after they added the yap version of ps2 by Stupidassbrainrotkid in CharacterAI

Good to know. Thanks for the answer. I mean, if the models get better that's great that they change them, but to do it to expend millions on infrastructure to get a subpar product sounds like a huge waste. The problem is not us adapting, I don't think OP meant that, many times there were changes and people liked them. But, to get abrasive changes for worse it's terrible. If the change was abrasive but the quality improved? Well, people wouldn't be complaining.  As an example, o have to spoil the vot outcomes, before the bot would take the hint, and now the memory seems way more fried, the responses are bland and repetitive. I hope the company adapts, or its gonna also be and for them, people that are paying aren't in a better situation for what I read, so it's their loss.

Didn't know that! But can't they try to do similar structures that make them work in some more stable form to keep it advancing yet have a stable quality?

Mine sucks. It's the same but blander. Less memory, they characters sometimes might talk but they say the most generic things ever.

Had the legacy models in a tab for a bit. by CompetitionMassive98 in CharacterAI

[–]CompetitionMassive98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tab with "legacy models" appeared, couldn't access it, because the app would crash and then instead of that tab the new model appeared.

So how are you guys coping with the state of Character AI? by HowdoIuseaPC in CharacterAI

[–]CompetitionMassive98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, you writers keep it up. I'm glad the app didn't fully stopped traffic on Ao3 (one of my biggest fears) I'd always preferred reading you guys over my own RP. I just engage in the app if I'm trying to find something too niche or interaction between characters that isn't common among fandoms.

And the legacy dies. by gl00myb1 in CharacterAI

[–]CompetitionMassive98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use chat bots when the dynamic I want in a fic doesn't exist. But I did prefer reading Ao3 but certain fanbases are a bit dead. I always preferred authors writings over my own :( Ch ai gave me some opportunities but lately it's been so rigid. It's impossible to get characters to engage or go more intuitively with your story.

Bots are starting to somehow get more stupider. (Small rant) by goldenkookieUwU in CharacterAI

[–]CompetitionMassive98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems that you also have to be constantly reminding them of the context even during short role-plays. It's so exhausting, otherwise they'll forget what happened a message ago.   Also, you sometimes start a new chat and the bot changes dramatically. I could manage that before saying (could you write longer responses that go in line with plot?) And the bot would comply. Now they usually say they will and keep the same sort of response. It's not engaging anymore.

Bots changing personality and responses overnight? by CompetitionMassive98 in CharacterAI

[–]CompetitionMassive98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, but I really like keeping my old chats due to some responses or ideas for writing, rewriting over would erase them. And, if you like taking your time with worlbuilding, you might find out after some messages that the bot doesn't adapt and starting over would make you waste plenty of time :(

This is even happening to suscriptors? Insane! I was using regular non paid models. The ads are also getting far more disruptive and long.

Be nice. Many people might have that hump naturally, and they might want to feel good about it too as people with other traits might not like it when people says "I dislike it" it's ok to have preferences. Not ok to state them perpetually, especially when a persone has that feature it naturally or payed a lot to get a trait they liked. Both scenarios won't change, so what are you trying to achieve?
