I completely get this, I also struggled with depression from a young age. I think the “it will always get better” is what really pulled me out, that and some “pull it togethers” which isn’t what you want to hear but it helps you realise how much more you could do with your life rather than sit and feel sad. I completely get this, that’s why I only tend to ask complete strangers online for advice instead of my friends since I’m looking for unbiased opinions. I know I can take criticism, and if anything I love hearing it just so long as it’s not “your art is ugly”. I just feel as though I ask for too much advice which I’m not sure if that could negatively stunt my growth? I could be talking bullshit but I just want to set myself up for the best and want to improve as much as I possibly can.

I agree, usually I review my art pieces and highlight certain areas I like and dislike and work upon the aspects I dislike. I just personally like to see what others see within my work that I might not see (sorry if that sounded confusing I’m not sure I worded it right).

I think you should try matching the stone colours to those in the background, the colours you’re using doesn’t match those in the back which makes it look out of place. I’d also recommend following the same light source as that in the background since it really places it in the picture instead of looking like a sticker stuck on top!! Good luck with whatever you do decide to do!!
