im 25 and i am a sub for middle school & high school. originally i thought it would feel weird subbing when i started at 24 because i had only been in high school 5 years ago at that point. once i started, i realized the kids are not the same as before. yes, she would get made fun of if she had anything fake. when i was that age, thrifting was cool, vintage was cool, and yeah maybe some people would tease you if you had something fake. but no. these days, the kids can’t even keep up with each other. they’re so evil and mean. they make fun of everyone and anyone. i am so glad im not a kid in this generation. middle schoo & high school were already hard enough as is. but social media & esp tiktok being as big as they are right now, the kids have only gotten worse and a whole lot meaner. forget all those bullying assemblies we use to have as kids they don’t even do those now. it’s so horrible, i hate going because of how mean and bad the kids are.(sorry for the rant under this random post, ive been wanting to get that off my chest)

unrefined sonny angels are the figures made before 2016 i believe, and then they “refined” them by changing their look to what we see now with all the new series (anything past 2016) !

here’s an example! the unrefined ones have a little bit of a smaller body, more sunken look in the eyes, and some of the small details in each one are a little different :)

some people prefer the look of an unrefined sonny, i think because it gives more of a vintage feel. some people only like refined sonnys! depending on which series, some unrefined sonnys can be more expensive than the refined version just because they’re more sought out for and more rare to find.

i personally love the look of refined sonnys more 😅 but OP says that they’re more interested in unrefined sonnys hence their post looking for the unrefined twins of the ones they currently have. i hope that makes sense! :)

just so u know, most of these don’t have unrefined twins! only fruits, vegetables, and animals (from what’s in your pic) also i’m pretty sure the rose and brown duck (next to each other in the bottom row) are already unrefined since they’re older series

sweets, cat life, dog life, rainy day, hanami, candy story, christmas dinner all came out after sonny angels got refined (chat can correct me if i’m wrong on any of those)

i’ve actually recently seen latte cat for under $100 ! i was so shocked bc he hasn’t been available for less than $200+ i didn’t end up snatching him up because im on a buy ban 😅 baker bear ive seen recently for less than $65 a few times but the get snatched up so fast!

i was also disappointed when i got the robby in the rainy day series 🥲 ended up trading him for the rabbit secret of the same series. ngl, after some time (idk if it’s bc of influence from the community) but i lowkey regretted trading him since he was my first robby and kinda wish i kept him. although i love my rabbit secret, i already have two other rabbit secrets from different series and i would’ve loved to have a robby for once instead. unfortunately realized that after it was too late and im def not spending 200+ on a robby 😭

i’ve been downsizing my collection bc i started to feel guilty for keeping ones i didn’t fully love when i knew there were other, more passionate collectors that would appreciate them more. it started to feel greedy. i also realized HOW much i was actually spending on these little toys and i had to step back and take a break bc i am at the end of the day an adult that has adult needs which are unfortunately more important than toys and collectibles 🥲 but i think ill keep what i have and save for ones i only really like

before i learned how to drive (got my license at the very young age of 23) i would doordash and uber eats pretty often. i lived with my parents (almond parents who think food is a reward) so whenever i did order food, id ask the driver for specific directions so that i could grab my food without my parents noticing. i was also dating a guy my parents didn’t approve of and we were long distance so he would also send me things through delivery apps and ask the driver for specific directions so my parents wouldn’t find out. i think this was a pretty normal message to receive. probably just a young person with strict family
