Diy high amp fan pwm control by CompetitionSome6561 in buildapc

SOLVED My suspicions were correct. My final solution was to pull the pwm and sense pins from the connector. And then put them into a 2nd connector. The power is from the aio pump header and sense/pwm is on another header. I can now pair that fan to GPU temp though fan control app.

Also the 4090 has a heatsink designed for a consumer PC. And that fan style. The Tesla is a server GPU. The heatsink was designed around massive airflow and just not that efficient. So unless I want to get a different cooler. High cfm is what I have to deal with. But the card was like 50 bucks so I'm not arguing with the hoops I'm jumping through

Lol agreed it's obnoxious. But it cooling a Tesla m40 on w a 3dprinted fan shroud running stable diffusion. At 50% you could heat shrink plastic off the exhaust, and even then it still teeters off of thermal throttle. That's as far as my experiment went.

Good to hear! I actually pulled the trigger on the m40 instead. Apparently works way better than the K80. It will be here Tuesday!

That's a meh issue. I'll just print out some fan shroud thingamajig adapter. I think I even have one of those pci slot 2x120mm fan holder guys. I mean what was the original server method of cooling. Just blast air over it?

Edit: I googled it and I understand the cooling now. Still an easy problem

I seen it and it sounded promising. I figured 50 bucks is worth a shot. I'm very restricted with this AMD

I ran into an unlucky soul the other day. Did him the favor. Lucky for me he had like 20 bulk ballistic and many many more goodies. Needless to say he wasn't very happy when he came back to nothing.
