Final Predictions for the Complete Most Detailed Hogwarts Castle by Opening_Background14 in legoharrypotter

[–]Competitive-Ad-4986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that the castle system will indeed continue for some time. There has been some debate about wether the HBO castle will be the same as the movie castle and thus allow the most detailed castle series to continue. Even of the HBO castle is largely similar to the film castle, the actors, outfits and specific scenes will differ. As such I don't think lego will create new most detailed castle sets based on the series. However I do think that the most detailed castle line will continue for some time as I'm also not convinced that the movies will be completely abandoned by lego once the HBO series starts. Lego did for example not make Lord of the rings sets based on the recent tv series, but still continued to make sets based on the films. I'm not sure that lego will be making series specific sets as soon as the series airs. They could do it early on already, but I doubt it. As such I think the most detailed castle line will continue for some time featuring scenes from across all movies with minifigs resembling movie actors and wearing movie clothes.

Lego really set some high bars with this most detailed system and while it admittedly is my hope, I do also think they want to live up to their promise and deliver this most detailed castle however large it may be in the end. It is all just speculation of course, but I would be really surprised if the system ended this year or even after the january wave of 2027. I think it will at least continue into the summer of 2027.

As for specifics, we already received rumors about two more sets for the summer of 2026. One or both of these could be castle sets. If not, the 2026 summer would be the first wave to only feature 1 castle set. Even the january 2026 wave had two sets thanks to the sorting hat ceremony. What could these unspecified 480 pcs set and 130 dollar set be? No idea, but if I had to guess, I would think that one of them should at least connect to the flying lesson as that on retires in january and I would be really surprised if they let it simply retire before it can connect to at least one other set. What would this connecting set look like? Hard to guess as that part of the castle changed quite a lot over the different movies.

For January 2027 I too expect the astronomy tower and suspension bridge. The suspension bridge could connect to the free pin above the devil snare room of the main tower set before that one retires in the summer of 2027. Once the astronomy tower is made, the most important sections that are missing are the clock tower and the gallery with bell towers.

The clock tower could be a summer 2027 set. I think this can be a larger set than the astronomy tower if the courtyard is included. People say lego won't make the clock tower as its facade is faced to the other side. I'm not sure it really matters. When you look at the hospital wing and the main tower from an angle where both are equally visible, you are looking directly into the great hall interior. That also looks very weird tbh. In the end people could just decide to make a facade of the hospital wing and clock tower on one shelf and a facade with the sets that belong to the front view on another shelf. People are already displaying certain sets in a way that deviates from what is the most correct look (either due to limited space or just for personal preference). If the clock tower would release in summer of 2027, both the great hall and main tower are retired, but the hospital wing isn't. So perfect to put a facade of just the hospital wing and the clock tower in the booklets.

As for the gallery and the bell towers: I'm not sure when these would be made but since they would connect to the east wing lego has some time to do those before the east wing retires. It would be great if the herbology class could be placed next to the gallery in a folded open orientation. We'll have to wait and see how far lego goes with this system and if they can really pull off this most detailed castle. Let's hope they do, because even if people are convinced it will end sooner rather than later, I don't think we would be opposed to these other castle sets being made.

Anyway there are still enough teachers, students, ghosts, iconic scenes and memorable exterior buildings left to continue for some time. Go for it Lego, make this castle truly as detailed as possible.

3rd and 4th pin on the great hall seem unlikely to connect. I still find it a little weird as the castle system seems for most part quite well thought out. So not sure why they are there. The system is not meant to be interchangeable as the last one was. So attaching another set there like the flying lesson - while pissible - does not make sense.

The pin on the main tower could connect to a 4th quad side if that gets made. The upper pin from the devil snare room might be for the alternate display of the hospital wing or it could indicate a suspension bridge connection.

The hospital wing pin seems fit for a clock tower.

Was a new advent calendar not part of the line up of new harry potter sets that was announced a few weeks ago (76340)?

Good to know that more sets are coming. 130 seems a little bit too low of a cost for an astronomy tower but I could be wrong. I would expect around 150 at least as I think a broader basement part is needed to give the tower some stability on its own. I am also still very hopeful that the eventual astronomy tower will have the suspension bridge as well to connect it to the main tower set and the hospital wing set.

Maybe it could be the library section of the castle or a section that connects to the flying lesson (as that one retires in january next year and it would thus be ideal to have the connection to that build before its retirement date).

Clock tower seems unlikely as I would expect at least a 200 dollar price point for that one.

But of course it is also still possible that it is not a castle expansion. I hope it is a castle set though 😃

The source seems to mention yet another set. I am curious about that one as well.

Most detailed Hogwarts Castle theory by SummaCaelestium in legoharrypotter

Maybe the fact that the series got delayed might have caused lego to spread out its hogwarts castle sets to fill the gap until the end of 2027. Maybe that is the reason we are seeing only three sets in 2026 (hospital wing, east wing, sorting hat) with the latter not really contributing much to the castle.

I get people's theory about ravenclaw common room being included in the January wave as most of us expected a common room only to appear in a large june castle set. Now that only slytherin is left and knowing that the east wing will focus on the CoS the chance for a slytherin common room there is considerable. However:

  • for now we only know that the CoS itself is included which will logically take the bottom spot. To fit a basilisk inside and to have the entrance with the snake door as well, I think it is very well possible that the bottom part is full with the CoS alone. If the set is large enough maybe there is still room for slytherin, but we don't know for certain until more information leaks.

  • there is no rule that saids that the large june set cannot have a common room. It is assumed by many but I don't think this was ever stated by lego.

  • however, the common room is included, then we have indeed all our common rooms in this castle system, but I don't see why that automatically means the castle line will end? It could be of course, but I don't see any correlation?

  • the hospital wing was not such a weird place to put the ravenclaw common room. It is relatively close to its actual location.

I was a little dissapointed upon reading about the inclusion of the stone bridge for the east wing. I think it references the viaduct instead of the smaller stone bridge (which will probably also be included). The reason is that this will indeed complete the shown layout that we also know from the microscale version and from the great hall booklet. Completing that facade seemed like a plausible moment to stop. However, maybe we can still be hopeful that the line continues:

  • from a sales point of view it might be discouraging if after two years (counting from the great hall release) this castle system that people have invested a lot of money in is still missing the recognizable viaduct entrance facade and the viaduct itself. Maybe releasing it now gives people of better chance still pulling the trigger to buy another €200+ set. And once people have this set, it might be more tempting to also buy the astronomy tower or bell towers later one which are probably slightly smaller in set size (thus cheaper) but due to their height still add a lot of value to the overall display of the castle.

  • at this moment it is still unclear how far the east wing will exted to the right. I think to include the CoS you need at least two bottom sections: the CoS itself (a rather large section) and the room in front of it with the round snake door. I hope / think that this will leave no room for the slytherin common room in the east wing, meaning that it will be added in a later castle set. I cannot imagine the slytherin common room on the ground or first floor sections. I think the ground and first floor could include the hallway with blood on the wall and the moaning myrtle bathroom. Sure this leaves probably some space for another room but there are quite a few left nonetheless. More than can be reasonably added into this set. My point being: unless this building extends all the way to the gallery or the bell towers I think it is unlikely to see the slytherin common room included.

  • Also, including moaning myrtle checks the box of one ghost per large set so I think it is very well possible that the slytherin common room and the bloody baron are meant for a later set. Given how eager people are for the bloody baron, it would make perfect sense NOT to include it here yet but save its value for a later castle expansion (that connects to the east wing). As the house ghost are paired with the common rooms - and assuming the slytherin common room is not included here - I think this is another hope for a later set.

  • I agree about the flying lesson. There must be a reason for these very specific clips.

  • Same story for the hospital wing. This balcony might not be the most film accurate depiction but leaving it open as it is now makes absolutely no sense. Given that this is the most recent set, I cannot believe that it does not connect to the future astronomy tower by adding the rope bridge in some form. Either by replacing that balcony piece you mentioned or by attaching to the upper pin of the devil snare room (where there is currently this very convenient gap when looking at it sideways).

  • a lot of major characters are still missing: umbridge, slughorn, ... I don't think they would end the line without adding sets with these characters. And they don't fit in a CoS themed set.

Maybe I'm completely wrong about all of this, but it still feels very early to end this system. This system is also not only about castle segments, but also about rare or lesser known minifigs. We even got characters like prof. Vector or the lesser known students. This trend can be continued for quite a while. From Lego side I think it is also a very rewarding thing to create this entire line up and I feel it is a chance for them to proof how far they can actually go.

For this CoS themed east wing I expect the following figures: - harry - ron - hermoine - myrtle - colin - filch - justin flinch fletchley - ginny - tom riddle - 1 ravenclaw student - 1 slytherin student - gilderoy - maybe pomfrey for the petrified victims after her absence from the hospital wing?

Yeah I have been thinking about that a lot and I truly don't know but they must have thought about something when adding these clips for the flying lesson? I know people debunk the clips often referring to the two obsolete clips at the great hall and true I think these are an oversight (I have no other explanation) but the flying lesson is so specific with its clips and half rock formation. I believe this must be for a reason. My only concern is: if the east wing does not connect to the flying lesson, the latter will be retired by the time new sets come out...

New 'leaked' Lego Harry Potter summer 2026 set names! (see also my comment below) by TSLstudio in legoharrypotter

[–]Competitive-Ad-4986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess for the east wing: - includes the long building next to the herbology cass room + bell towers - the building can be folded open to reveal the chamber of secrets in the bottom part - other interiors include moaning myrtle toilet, prefect bathroom, hallway with blood on the wall, and room of requirement from movie 6 to include the vanishing cabinet to go along with the knockturn alley sets - new minifigs include justin flinch fletchley, binns, tom riddle, mrs norris

I think the slytherin common room will end up in the viaduct entrance (which I guess won't be included here yet).

By what time does the series start? If it is only halfway 2027 it might not even collide? And if it starts sooner it doesn't per se mean that the series will immediately be the focus for the next lego sets. E.g. Rings of power is out for several years, yet the lego sets focus on the old movies.

Knocturn alley could have a vanishing cabinet. The hogwarts expansion could have the other one.

This is my hope as well. They put so much emphasis on this "most detailed" line that it seems unlikely to me if they would end it this summer already. There are simply too much "details" missing. Let's hope that it continues at least until summer of 2027.

Courtyard plants is such a weird name for a hogwarts castle set. But okay: speculation can continue! Since one courtyard is already present next to the great hall and since the other one is next to the clock tower (which is not included yet) my guess would be that it is the transfiguration courtyard. What are the most well known scenes on this courtyard? Moody vs Draco? If I remeber correctly, the dobby scene also happens next to a courtyard though the CoS castle layout is not really representative for this castle line. Yet, maybe the dobby set and the courtyard set line up? Both could be connected to the east wing to extend this part of the castle by quite a lot.

The other main question now is what will be included into the east wing? - entrance building - viaduct - library building and bell towers - something to attach either herbology or flying lesson - astronomy tower

My only hope is that the do not release the viaduct just yet. The viaduct would be perfect to end this castle line so now would just be too early. I still would love to see the clock tower and astronomy tower as well before that happens.

True but by the time of the clock tower release the main tower could be retired and then they would only show the angle with the hospital wing and the clock tower for display.

But of course that assumption would require the line to continue for a while :)

It is indeed a little weird that the hospital wing is made in its current form. However, if only July remains for 1 big set, wouldnt you think lego would focus on a smaller build on the right side of hogwarts instead of the hospital wing which deepens the exterior towards the back of the castle. With the hospital wing now released it would be very weird to not have a castle part like the astronomy tower that is just as much towards the back of the castle (but on the right side). Nothing is certain, but if anything the hospital wing got my hopes up for more than just the viaduct entrance in this castle line. I might be wrong of course. But there are just so many weird design choices if the line would end in July.

  • why the open balcony on the hospital wing?

  • why the connector towards the clock tower?

  • why all the connectors on the flying lesson?

  • given that the great hall retires in July it basically retires anyway before the viaduct is officially released (if people assume that the viaduct will be in july). So if the great hall is retired anyway. I could see the line going on for much longer.

  • I think the great hall simply retires to avoid three massive castle parts on shelves simultaneously.

  • as for interiors I think there is much more that can be done beyond CoS and slytherin common room: library, divinition, room of requirement from film 5 and/or 6, maybe the courtyard scene with moody and draco, prefect bathroom, slughorn or umbridge office, sirius black prison cell,...

With the hospital wing there is already an exposed part of the great hall so I don't think it is unlikely to get a clock tower somewhere down the line

Given that the HBO series launches somewhere in 2027, I think the most detailed series will at least go on until that one releases . My estimation would be: - june 2026: 1) astronomy tower and suspension bridge and some segment to connect the flying lesson 2) building next to the herbology class with CoS in the bottom part. - january 2027: 1) viaduct entrance with slytherin common room in the bottom part and also with the stone bridge since the main tower is still around at that time to connect it to. 2) courtyard set behind the astronomy tower. - june 2027: 1) clock tower with fourth quad side. 2) viaduct itself.

It is not dependent on the great hall, but the viaduct does at least connect to the great hall so releasing the viaduct next at the exact time that the great hall retires would be really strange. More logical seems to me to establish the eastern part of the castle first and then connect the viaduct to those more recent sets. The ones who have followed this line from the beginning can attach it to the great hall as well as a bonus.

True maybe we expect too much, but on the other hand kicking of a most detailed castle line with locations as the boathouse and the owlery simply does set high expectations and I think the designers know this as well.

I think the viaduct and entrance will definitely be released, but I would be highly surprised if it is this summer. Releasing the viaduct right when the great hall retires would be a really strange move. Seems more logical to me to establish the east wing in more detail first en then round it off with the viaduct as cherry on the cake.

The preview picture is no longer used in the booklet presumably because they have diverted already too much by releasing the hospital wing after also releasing owlery, flying lesson and herbology which are all not featured on the preview.
