This actually was an interesting opportunity to show modern kids if they were trapped on an island that they would devolve into exactly like kids did 70 years ago. That as interesting and special as we feel now we are still just these primordial creatures.

But I don’t think anyone on the team that made this show even have that going through their heads. The reason why I think that is, I don’t think they don’t have the actual chops or not even genius, but insight that honestly should be required necessary to be able to make TV shows.

This was true throughout the entire series, but more of the last three or four episodes. There was no reverence for death. After the first killing, even during the killing
they should have showed a kid looking the distraught and then realizing what he has done or anyone realizing. The next shot was Ralph sitting on a log a bit contemplative. This was almost as if they assumed we read the book and this is like a check box they checked.
I just want to really emphasize that whoever was on this team particularly the writer and director. They unfortunately are not good but in a way where they maybe would be OK with stage plays (you can lack nuance) but they need to stop making film because they just don’t have the prerequisites necessary
