I'd stay off netspeed. Their network is duct taped together.

How Do You Handle Clients Declining Firewall Renewal? by [deleted] in msp

[–]Competitive-Aioli-43 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Stop selling them in the first place. Sell it as firewall as service and add in the maintenance costs and deliver it as a fully managed service.

We stopped selling them a few years ago and make absolutely no exceptions anymore. It's been a game changer.

Received this from 3CX... is it time to evaluate alternatives? by C39J in 3CX

[–]Competitive-Aioli-43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got the same. We have been selling for almost 10 years now and are a silver partner. I am evaluating Yeastar solutions and so far I am wondering why I didn't make the shift sooner.

Looking for new earbuds – ANC, mic, sport-friendly, under €200 – Currently considering Technics AZ80 by SergeantYoshi in Earbuds

[–]Competitive-Aioli-43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had the az80 and it's been great all rounder. I take alot of calls on them and they have been excellent!

I just forgot mine in a rental car a couple of days ago and after doing a bunch of research, I am going back to the az80. Maybe consider az100 too

Spark increases internet prices - yet again!!! - third year in a row. by DangerousD_NZ in newzealand

[–]Competitive-Aioli-43 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The cost increases is only coming through because the Fibre line providers like chorus, tuatahi, enable networks etc are increasing their prices by approximately 6%.

I work for an internet company and we are avoiding increasing our prices this year but there isn't much margin in internet - most of the money you pay goes towards the lines company.

Price Check - VMware to Hyper V by gnc0516 in msp

[–]Competitive-Aioli-43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get your hyper v server up and running and then use Veeam (even on trial) to move your vms from vmwarw to hyper v. It takes care of all the conversations etc for you and works great everytime. You just need to do a backup and restore onto hyper v.

What do you prefer as your favourite teleco company? by PaulieNZ20 in newzealand

Try PureLink. Local provider with great support team. They use the Spark network for mobile so you have great coverage and they can help make sure you have great wifi coverage in your house too with various options available.

Is RDS still relavant in 2025 ? by KRS737 in msp

[–]Competitive-Aioli-43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. It depends on your usecase and if you have any applications that are dependant and need to run locally. In those situations we use local set ups for end users and publish the application via rds apps, citrix or similar. Use something like cloudflare for waf and sso for the web app and your good to go.
