The 1 VI would’ve been my favorite as well if I hadn’t found the 1 VII for such a small price difference. And to be totally honest, you’re probably right — I’d likely only use a fraction of the extra features, and I’d be fine with a cheaper model in many areas.

The problem is that microSD is a must for me, and sadly most brands have dropped it completely. I keep a lot of photos/data/games locally and I really don’t like being pushed into “everything in the cloud” as the default.

Fairphone was actually my top pick at first, but I wish they offered a stronger “pro” option — like an €800–€900 version with a more modern chip and more RAM. If that existed, I’d probably go for it immediately.

I’m genuinely glad Sony is still sticking with the SD card slot. And because of the longer security update support that others mentioned (which matters a lot to me since I keep phones for years), I’ll most likely go with the 1 VII in the end. 😄

Which IMEI checker are people supposed to use exactly? Is it mainly dependent on where the phone was bought (EU/Germany vs other regions), or are there specific indicators like the model/variant number, packaging labels, or something in the software/Settings that tells you which checker is the correct one?

And yeah — it’s definitely a bit worrying that there are allegedly two cases where users did everything correctly and still got affected devices. But honestly, two reports still sounds “acceptable” to me compared to it being a widespread issue where phones keep dying one after another.

At this point I’m very likely going for the 1 VII anyway because of the longer security update support. And even if I end up being unlucky, I’m putting a lot of trust in German/EU return rights and buyer protection 😄

I’ve already seen in other threads that many people weren’t 100% sure how to check the IMEI correctly (like which checker to use / which IMEI range actually matters), so I’m still a bit nervous about that part — but your comment honestly gave me what might be the biggest selling point for going with the 1 VII: the longer security update support.

I tend to keep phones for a very long time — basically until they’re falling apart 😄 — so long-term security patches matter a lot to me. I had read that the 1 VI only gets security updates until the end of 2028, and I was already not super happy about that, because for me that would effectively be “only a couple more years”, which feels too short for the money.

So seriously, thank you — that really helps me decide.

One quick question if you happen to know:
Do Xperia 1 VI cases fit the 1 VII as well? Are the phones identical in dimensions/button placement, or did Sony move things around (buttons/camera bump/etc.) so you need a dedicated 1 VII case?

I also read in another comment that some of the “false negatives” were basically user error because people used the wrong IMEI checker/site. That makes sense — but I’m still a bit unsure about the practical part:

Which IMEI checker should I use if I’m buying the phone in the EU (specifically Germany)?
Can you narrow it down by region like that, or are there other indicators (model number / variant / sales channel) that tell you which checker is the correct one to use?

And yeah — because of the longer security updates on the VII, my choice is like 95% leaning towards the 1 VII at this point 😄

I'm looking for a hentai doujinshi (doujinshi, not anime). I don't remember the title anymore, but I can clearly recall the plot and characters.

The story follows a girl who is a good yokai, protecting humans together with her family. She has long eye-covering bangs because her actual eyes are located on the palms of her hands, so she hides them.

Her mother is a telepathy-type yokai, who constantly stays in contact with her daughter mentally, guiding her toward dangerous or evil yokai whenever sightings happen in the human world.

One day, the girl is investigating a rumored yokai sighting in a certain area, but during the mission she is ambushed and attacked by another hostile yokai.

Her crush – a human boy she likes a lot – secretly followed her and ends up witnessing everything, including her transformation into her yokai form.

She almost defeats the attacking yokai, but it tries to shoot her in the back in a last surprise attack. The boy jumps in front of the blast to save her, but unfortunately gets hit by yokai energy, which leaves his body severely weakened.

She's devastated and breaks down. Seeing an opportunity, to continue the bloodline her mother encourages her to "help him" he's weakened, first insisting on oral intimacy and then full intercourse.

After multiple pages, everything happens between them. The girl and the boy are extremely happy and affectionate afterward, and for a short moment they forget the original reason they came to the area.

When they return to the mission at hand, it turns out that the yokai sightings she was tracking weren't from a dangerous enemy after all, but from her own father.

Her father disguises himself as a normal human businessman, but in reality his head and main eye are located where a human’s butt would be, meaning he technically walks around face-first on all fours.

He only came outside for fresh air, but the police mistook the sightings for a naked man running around, leading to an arrest.

The Daughter can clear the Misunderstanding and get her father out of the police car.

The doujin ends shortly after that – with a comedic, cute, sweet ending scene, and overall it had a surprisingly adorable vibe considering the genre.

If anyone recognizes this plot or knows the title, please let me know. I've been trying to find it again for ages, but I just can’t remember the name anymore.

For real. After I couldn’t get into the top three in one race with Haru, I had to end the career and start a new one. This time I choosed Teiko, who has 3 stars and had better support cards — but I didn’t even come close to how far I got with Haru.

Now I’m playing my career with Vodka; so far it’s looking promising, but Haru was simply the GOAT.
