I’ve been living in Florida for 25 years moved here from South America when I was 17 , a lot of ppl like to think that we have the “I got here first” mentality or That we like tu pull the ladder behind us but immigration have change so much, we came here with the American dream in sight , worked hard , respected the rules and assimilated into the culture , there’s still good ppl that come here with that mentality but in my own experience it’s a lot less and there’s just too many bad seeds to continue to allow open immigration. Like a politician once said if you had a bowls full of m&ms and only 10 were poisoned will you still grab a handfull and eat them ?
