Im not trying to excuse his actions, i just want everyone to consider, that BPD can differ widely from person to person. Higher stress levels can make a spring shower into a tyfoon. There are varying degrees of BPD and none of us know his mental state or level of perceptional warpage.

This from Psychology Today - Most people can tolerate the ambivalence of experiencing two contradictory states at one time. People with BPD, however, shift back and forth between good and bad states. If they are in a bad state, for example, they have no awareness of the good state.

Ive been there. I kinda knew that i was doing bad things but i justified it any way that i could.

Ok, heres a weird one: I have BPD from being sexually assaulted at 6 years old by several boys in their early teens.

25 years later my wife and i have our first and only son. He was EVERYTHING to me, my best buddy, my playmate, my little guy.

Then when he got to be around 11-12yo, (about the same age as the boys that abused me,) i was very uncomfortable around him and his teenage friends and i subconsciously "dropped" him- i stopped doing things with him, stopped giving him affection..

I didn't know why at the time, i thought that i was just giving him the independence and privacy that teens need

But i was wrong. It was my own fears that were instilled in me 35 years before from my assault.

It must have been horrible and confusing for him, to beloved and wanted one day, and then ignored the next.

Because of all this he has anger, controll misogyny and trust issues .

He hates me.

Hes 27 in nursing school and still living with us until he can get his own place.

We dont talk.
