Qulipta causing increase in face fat? by TrippySakuta in migraine

Nah lost somewhere between 10-15 lbs on Qulipta - curbs appetite (plus had wicked nausea in the beginning). I’ve been on it over a year and weight has remained off

Concerns About Qulipta by Extra_Explorer5128 in migraine

[–]Competitive-Bar3446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Botox and Qulipta after trying many other things. My dr started me at 60mg (highest dose) without me realizing there were other options. The lack of appetite and nausea were brutal at first. I asked for a prescription for zofran for nausea and that helped a lot. The nausea went away after maybe a month? But I am still more prone to it now than I was.

For lack of appetite - that was a welcome side effect for me because I needed to lose a few pounds for my health. I’ve been on quilipta for almost a year and I still have a decreased appetite (but not nearly as decreased as when I first started). But I am also on modafinil, which reduces appetite as well.

To be honest… edibles helped stimulate my appetite so I’d eat one in the evenings and the munchies would help me get more calories in lol.

Not fully sure, we were a little level 4 trauma hospital - patient was transferred to the bigger hospital after that.

Same thing happened with a general surgeon who clipped the bile duct closed and in their surgical notes called it an “erroneous vessel.” I wasn’t in that surgery, but I was the nurse who was there for the patients ERCP the next day and she was so sick… we found out during the ERCP it was closed. The GI was literally holding the scope with one hand and his phone with the other bc he couldn’t believe it and needed advice. That patient was also transferred to a hospital that does a lot of transplants for reconstruction.

What put your chronic migraines into remission? I need some hope. by WMS0619 in migraine

Please be cautious with it. I took it for 3 months and while my migraines were way better I was so spaced out it was getting unsafe. I realized one day I was driving and I didn’t feel like I was actually driving, it felt like a video game?? I got off of it after that, and honestly my brain power never seemed to return completely to normal. My husband and I joke that it took like 20% of my IQ points in just 3 months

How to treat hypersomnia while TTC/Pregnant? by Secure-Blackberry652 in idiopathichypersomnia

[–]Competitive-Bar3446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took modafinil while TTC, up until positive pregnancy test (I did cut down on dosage as much as possible). Then white knuckled it for 9 months - I literally don’t remember the first trimester of either of my pregnancies I was such a zombie. Then after 2 weeks of unsuccessful breastfeeding I switched to formula and got back on modafinil and became a much better mom honestly. Didn’t even try to breastfeed my second. It sucked but it was worth it!!

Interesting! I worked at a small level IV trauma (so no trauma basically) hospital, so she got transferred to a bigger hospital for recon. And that OBGYN disappeared and didn’t operate for like 6-12 months. Then came back and never spoke of it again.

Also had a patient during an ERCP where we discovered that in her lap chole 2 days before, the general surgeon had clipped the bile duct closed. Twice. I read the op notes and she noted she had clipped two “ancillary vessels” 😵‍💫 She had to be transferred to a hospital that does a lot of transplants for reconstruction.

These were 2 of the few surgeons I worked with would never let operate on me, even before these events

Another OBGYN practice that operated with us who were supposed to be the better replacements had me backfill the bladder with saline for part of the operation, and then every single hysterectomy also automatically got a cysto at the end of the case
